Elemental or Enhancement?

Hello guys!

Just started Shamy and i'm in trouble, dunno what talent to choose for max dps. I am a fun of elemental, but as i see in the game all dps shamys are Enha. So cant choose which one is the best and why.

maybe there is a bug or it has hard rotation or smth like that, dunno. If any of you have an opinion, please right it down.

Do you like playing melee or ranged.

I Have never seen an ele shaman that can even come close to my Enhancement's damage :/ and I'm not even geared #CarriedByNo'Kaleds

You might not have seen any close to your damage, but I can guarantee they are able to. Enough screenshots out here to prove that.

Even in terms of utility, and many raid leaders will agree, I'd much rather have an Ele in my group than an Enha especially when it comes to hc.

Your lack of knowledge about Ele sham was already clear here. You're getting brainwashed by the community's view. It's like all those fools saying Locks pull bad dps and then their world gets flipped upside down when they see one pulling 50k.

My perception of Ele shamans is not "warped"... My Fiance is a Shaman, and guess what, hes mains Ele. He taught me enhancement.

If I understand it correctly, ele deals better AoE damage through overload with chain lightning (a.k.a. living tesla coil) and enha deals sustainable major damage through lava lash.

downside : with lagging connection, such as me, using enha is better choice since we can pull an acceptable amount of damage just from auto attack and hitting lavalash even on lags. But it become very troublesome on fight where positioning is important (like DS)

Ele is a bit like fire mage, more RNG feeling. Enha a bit like frost mage, u get a good proc u hit it (like finger of frost) and then be done. Resto more like arcane mage, stable rotation and cooldown management.

but bigger is not always better. Effective and efficient is what count.

usually in progression raid content,you cant count for large amount of mobs cluttered together. 2 or 3 at best?

Anyway, not saying single target as ele is bad, but with all kind of things you need to keep track of, i think enha would be easier (which would mean achieving your peak performance with enha is easy).

Still, that overload mastery seems good provided you enough mastery to pull multiple lava burst. I plan on making ele shaman my next toon once i'm done with my enha and resto. Because man i'm fed up with being ranged on my mages and druids. I figured melee shaman would be nice for a change

I got a high geared ele shamy...while with my lower ilvl enh i am doin a lot ( A LOT ) better dps.....ele is just badly broken,if u want to play dps dont gear it, better go enha they are amazing...i am playin nelth since it opened so u can be asured its like i said..... cheers

Atm in molten there is no debate about this. Ench >>>>>>> Ele. I play ele cause i just love it but on molten they are broken for many reasons.. ( flametongu, mastery not working 100% , haste not working 100% , lag) i wont even mention than in most melee classes hit doesnt work 100% either so they can benefit more than casters from it. I got 400 ilvl ele shammy and in best cases with 0 lag and some lucky mastery procs i do 25k-28k dps when a 380 ench is doinng the same while he is eating with one hand and beeing alt+tabed to facebook. Hope you got the point :)

Stay enha my friend :p ele will only treat you worse

Elemental has a few serious bugs:
Fire elemental totem
Elemental Focus
Elemental Overload (Although this one is unconfirmed and debatable)
Fulmination Crit damage

They all combine to make elemental somewhat less than ideal (Especially the Elemental Focus and Fire Elemental ones)

If you don't know how to play a real ele, go for much easier enh.
