I need some info on these trinkets, mainly if they are worthwile on molten before I decide to splash out dkps on these.
As far as I read on retail these trinkets ( GTs http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=54589 and Abacus http://wotlk.openwow.com/item=50366) procced off chain heal and the targets that CH subsequently jumped to, making them awesome trinkets. However I found plenty of bugged trinkets along the way which makes me wonder.
Can anyone who had experience with these trinkets on shamans confirm or elaborate how these work on molten ?
i saw few times on recount how much in percents of 100% heal, the Althor's Abacus did. i cannot remember but the amount was extremly high. So i highly recommend him.
GTS is also awesome but only and only if you have a druid that have Innervate reserved only for you on each boss.
If there are no druids Solace of The Fallen is a card that should be played on, because of constant mp5 unlike Purified Lunar Dust which gives a chance. Simple
<3 shamans
Well Im using solace hc / dust atm, the only boss I see the benefit of that huge mp5 boost is LK. wanna try to get my healing above 15k hps on other bosses :D
Last night I got Abacus (normal). On Bql and LK it did around 10% of my overall healing which is awesome .. other bosses around 2% . Seems to proc off pretty much everything.
Just for future info :) I will post again when I get gts too.
Abacus HC only provides 1-2% of total healing. I only use Abacus for Sindy and Short fights
GTS works very well in combination with CH.
must have for BiS Rshamies is Solace of the Defeated. When it's fully stacked (2 CH's) it wil give you 144 mp/5.
Hi all from Teamstars :) Lukoff you are good resto shaman but in this case you are away from the true bro. GTS+Abacus . Thats all! How said any before that Solace is good only for LK and hc variant (i mean only for LOD) but i prefer to use 2,3 runic mana potions after first transition and thats all! All resto shamans and future resto shamans use GTS + Abacus this is your totaly bis no solace no CTS nothing else only this! HF & GG thats the point ;)
In general, I can say: "Any pair of trinkets are situational and depends by boss encounter". You'll be a bad healer if you'll stay in one "set" at every boss.

this. there are no BiS trinkets for everything in icc. i personally swap out between about5-6 trinkets depending on the fight. when AoE healing is needed (PP,BQL, fester) and you have decent healers yea GTS/Abacus for more healing but dont use them for every fight.
Rexarjr man first i want to ask you from when you start to understand from resto shamans after you are elemental but nvm. And second with your logical you said that you must change your trinkets depends of bosses yes but not for shaman class or you would change nemesis trinket with dfo for any boss ? Rofl. So my expirience as resto show it abacus and gts are best trnkets and thats all or i will say if i must make choose solace or cts ofc cts will win. But you said if i dont change my trinkets depends of boss i will never be top rofl i hear this for first time. But i dont want to insult ppl here this is theme where ppl want help. Again abacus and gts. Because if you dont know how to heal you will be out of mana but this wont be problem of your missing of solace this is only excuse. Hf all.
Hello. I'm not much of forum person. But decided to share my thoughts about trinkets. I count myself as pretty good resto shaman. Bis gear (no donate) multi Lod. my whole gear is Haste/crit. And have 2 items with MP5 (t10 legs and ICC rep Ring.) My trinkets are Glowing and abacus. And i don't run out of mana.... so i don't use solace or any other mana giving trinket because its useless for me. Almost all encounters are too short to get out of mana. And on LK 25hc. You have mana potions, mana tide, maybe other shaman healing so his mana tide. So you have no problem with mana specially when your main mana regen goes from Crits (water shield talent) and water shield himself. So when you don't have problems with mana it's best to go for trinkets which increasing your healing output.
It all depends on the rest of your gear. A mass of haste on lower level gear would make you oom pretty damn quickly. To that end I'd recommend Solace over anything else until you're in mostly icc gear.
Once you're sufficiently geared though, you'll notice that your mana will be relatively stable throughout most fights. When you reach this point you can focus on pure throughput trinkets.
Of course, all of this assumes you know how to use your mana effectively (as in don't spam GHW).

Basically what Carbo said; crit=mp5. Now when it comes to trinkets, abacus is nothing but 200 passive sp. I do consider it top like 4 trinkets (along with gts, solace & bauble), but abacus has a high proc chance and a long icd for the proc to actually do work(heal someone who actually needed the heal rather than healing the mt from 97% to full hp) on any boss (I can be more specific regarding that but I can't be arsed). Now when it comes to gts the only two scenarios where it's actually useful is on bqls airphase and in the shadow realm on halion25hc. Another passive 200 sp there. (it's bis but not needed at all). Once you're in a decent guild along with decent healers it's not gonna matter what trinkets you have to actually down halion25hc or icc25hc. The only thing that matters is that people know tacts and knows how to correctly play their class/spec/role. The only time you should have mana problems is on vdw where you pretty much spam healing waves for a few minutes. If you want to top healing go and get gts&abacus. But if you want to defeat the encounters that are considered harder without anyone in your raid dying get bauble and gts/abacus. Feel free to reply here/whisper me ingame(I'm online at least every friday) if you have any further questions regarding trinkets or shams in general.
Crit is MP5, true, but 1 crit rating is really far from 0.5 MP5. Really, really really far from that.
Depending on your playstyle and on your raid setup you'll find yourself at ease with mana, in which case go for throughout trinkets. Or you'll find yourself heavily relying on druids' Inervates and other mana regen mechanisms, in which case, go for more MP5 trinkets or even swap a piece of gear to get MP5 instead of crit. That said, ael00, it seems that you're comfortable with mana, go for trinkets, drop PLD and get one of those trinkets, see if your mana is fine or not, and if yes, swap Solace. That's all - and well, that's not all; trutide pointed it out, in an end-game geared raid, it doesn't matter what trinkets you use since you over-gear the fight.
ILECDW, not wanting to be rude or anything but... stop saying nonsense - you say you don't need mana trinkets while also claiming
i prefer to use 2,3 runic mana potions after first transition
(which is an abuse - now corrected according to the changelog), which exactly proves Rexarjr's and Funkymusic's point: trinkets are situational, don't tell us that you don't need the mana from Solace or Purified Lunar Dust since you abuse those 9k mana during LK25hc fight - that's about 70MP5 for a 10min fight, so maybe Solace (144MP5) is not needed and you can go with purified or with Silver of Pure Ice (hc).
