Hey, I'm looking to start playing WoW again but don't know which class to roll for my first toon.
I used to play a lot of MoP and loved burst DPS classes and was wondering which classes in WOTLK would suit my taste.

At BiS level I guess combat rogues are gonna be the highest burst provided full raid buffs and not unlucky procs.
+1 this. Although combat dps drops off a lot more then other classes after their burst phase has ended.
Ele shamans are probably one of the lowest burst and constant dps specs.
Oh wow. So other than combat rouge, what other specs would you recommend?
Honestly combat is very buff and gear dependent, and frowned upon by a lot of guilds because many fail to see their utility. Personally, I'd recommend playing whatever role you like the most, as all can be played at an end game level.
If you are looking at pure dps, mages and hunters normally do the most damage on movement reliant fights such as Lich King, especially due to their long range. They also provide a lot of utility from dispels, misdirection, cc, taunting and kiting potential.
For consistent cleave damage melee normally top the recount, although there is often a high number of these classes in both pugs and end game guilds and very few raid slots for them.. There are also very few consistent cleave fights in end game 3.3.5 raiding, and fights such as the lich king encounter can be seen as anti-melee due to movement.
Shadow priests, boomkins and demo warlocks all provide crucial buffs and/or fill crucial roles in a lot of end game boss fights. This, as well as pulling viable dps and perhaps having the lowest class representation on deathwing makes them great classes to play.
Tldr: play what you want, or play to fit a certain role

Are Demo Warlocks too weak?
imo with BiS gear
PvE: mages ( http://imgur.com/EMdasRd,aC0AL6m#1 )
PvP: spriest ( http://imgur.com/EMdasRd,aC0AL6m#0 )
