1. [WiP] JungleCove Launcher Concept

    Hi, fellow Warmaners.

I need some feedback on a design for JungleCove, which is a media providing journalism for the private server scene.
Some of you may know Dodgykebaab who has ties with the network.

The launcher is to serve the purpose of making it simpler for not only veterans, but aimed at potential new audiences for the private server scene. A tool where you can easily check out servers, read its' info, check out its' videos, and the opinions of reviews. Get all client versions of the game without having to hassle with torrents. You can add friends and view what server they're playing on, and perhaps even what character and its' info. Perhaps also a global account feature where you can link private server accounts to your JungleCove account, and it will inject into the client only to auto-login for you. Much like the Battle.net feature.

It's only designed by me but will be developed by JungleCove.

  2. I'm not certain about that last bit. We aren't fond external or 3rd party software/websites asking for or requiring player account information (account name and password specifically, for any sort of login purposes or anything else) from our server, or even so much as monitoring that particular data. If that is what that turns out to be, we won't support it. The player account data has to be 100% secure.

About reviews, I'd also imagine the staff would want control of whichever (if any) is connected to us on that launcher. A review that is recent and full and fair coverage wold be preferred. Dodgykebaab's most recent review was just leveling as far as I know.

I think that perhaps a function in the launcher that changes/updates the client's realmlist would be a great addition to it, allowing someone to switch between private servers at will. It could be very useful for people who are searching for new servers, or players who alternate between servers for various reasons.

I also think that important links could be included, such as things on Warmane or other servers like our information page, change-log and dev-log. Perhaps there could also be a small section that indicates that the server in question supports other expansions, if at all.

As for things that are specifically related to you, honestly I think the design is pretty nice. It's not cluttered. It's pretty clean and easy to tell what's what. Kaer is our primary designer as far as website aesthetic is concerned, so I'll link this to him and see if he has anything to say.

I'm sure some of our community members would be interested in offering some feedback as well.

Your feedback is appriciated, my lady.

I respect your standpoint regarding 3rd party softwares. These feature are but ideas for the concept.
Of course, server owners or ambassadors if that will become a thing, will have full access to modify information and add links.
The more opinions you can gather of an idea or a concept, the more polished it becomes. And there are a lot of creative people in this community.

Simplicity and user-friendliness is my primary style of design, I'm looking forward to Kaer's opinion.
