did archaeology get disabled again? I logged into 4 toons all with arch and no digsites show up on the map.

You might have switched it off. Go to the map and in the bottom right corner there are "Map options" - Show digsites. Hope it helps.

which blows because I asked if it's a bug and they complete ignored me as usual.. so dumb that archeology is x1 when the other professions are x7 makes no sense..

Unless you want the incredibly easy to get title "Professor", there is little to no reason to do Archaeology. Just like on retail, it's just for the vanity items.
