1. Casual Lordaeron? An Opportunity?

Hi all. A couple very general questions, but Lordaeron focused ones. A side note first: Molten was my first WoW experience, but when I joined, I joined Rag and basically spent the entirety of my WoW career in endgame where achievement hunting is just a timesink in between other objectives. Fun as it was, I was pulled a way after a while due to moving and work and never really found my routine where WoW could fit in, but I'm about there now. I came back and it looks like I have an opportunity for a fresh start :D
My question to the old x1'ers, is it possible to invest only a couple of hours a day during the week and game mainly on the weekends and not be left completely behind?
Is it worth working on a character that can solo well if that is the case? (I'd prefer to play a hpriest, but I enjoy mmhuntering also)
Last question is extremely general but it's something that's a point for thought for me in the x1 context, and it's if I want to level an alt as well, is it worth splitting the time or focus on 1 toon till it's up to scratch for that expansion and start alts inbetween releases?
I'm pretty stoked that I get to join in on a fresh realm start, I really want to go the whole hog this time around!

Edit: PS. I'll probably go Horde to completely have a brand new experience, never really levelled a Horde toon before...for the horde?!

  2. first of all i think its possible 2 not get left behind if u play as much as u say, only problem is that some so called Hardcore guilds expect ppl not 2 have a life couse of their guild even calendar (thers usualy only 1 of those guilds per faction ), so just avoid such ppl and u wont have a problem. u maybe wont have realm firsts but u can expiriance all they do just a bit slower.
about an Alt...if u dont have time like u say i think its much smarter 2 focus ur play time on single char and u wont be left behind ( maybe alt for proffesions only).
this is just my personal opinion though.

  3. - Playing a couple of hours during the week, and a lot more during the weekend should be enough to keep up with the crowd. That's what I think.
The first 1-2 weeks I think that the leveling experiance will be horrible. Lots of people will camp certain quest mobs, at least in the two first zones (e.g durotar + the barrens).

    - Play any character you'd enjoy. Druid, which I will choose, should struggle the first 19 levels. warrior/warlock/hunter/paladin, and some other class might do better

    - I think it's a good idea to focus on one character and then play your alt 'between expansions'. That is what I aim to do.

  4. Lol don't worry I have no reason to interact with such guilds, I'm a collection type achievement hunter not world first type >_>

Yeah, on weekdays, I'm out of the house at least 12 hours between commuting and the work day, so I doubt I'd get more than 2 hours in during the week.

Thanks guys, that's dope, as long as there's generally going to be people to group and play with in the area, it's all good. Honestly I'd like to play a hpriest, but I think it's a little unlikely I'll find groups like that, so I'll level as shadow I suppose and hopefully I wont bankrupt myself resetting lol

Do not level as shadow until you reach 50+ level, Smite spec with Holy/Disc and Shadows mana regen 1st tier talent + smite glyph outperforms Shadow by a mile at lower levels. Do not forget to obtain any wand at first levels, since wands do more dmg than your spells and doesnt cost any mana until like level 20.

Yeah I levelled my first toon on Rag as a lolsmite for the longest time, so that's at least one thing I'm good for xD
