no thorium veins?

I searched all throughout the zones where there are supposed to be thorium veins (Silithus, Un'Goro crater, and Winterspring) and there were none. How am I supposed to level up in mining and engineering without thorium? Is this something everyone else is experiencing or is there some other way people are getting thorium on Frostwolf?
