Black bars on the sides of the screen

Hi, after I had downloaded wotlk and opened it up two black bars appear on either side of the screen, like what appears when you watch a movie but bigger. I have tried deleting the game and then reinstalling it but it doesn't work. Is it just like this for everyone? Or is there some way of getting rid of it?

Change the resolution.
