1. Macros determining which RBG invite is for before joining?

Some time before the moltdown, on WotLK (though this may apply to other versions) we used to be able to click like the following in sequence:

    /who z-"Arathi Basin" 80

This would show who was in each BG, and more importantly which one was filling up. This allowed us make an educated guess as to which RBG we are probably being invited to, so if you do not particularly like SotA or IoC, or you are trying for achievements in a particular BG, you could leave the queue and rejoin.

At some later point before the moltdown this stopped working, so that it shows who is in the first BG you click the macro for but the others do not function.

Does anyone know how to make this work, perhaps there is a macro/command that could be entered after the first is pressed to reset it so that the following macros for the remaining BGs would work?

  2. They throttled /who requests so people would stop using addons like Census to know how many people are actually online, as opposed to what the front page says. That's why those macros are not working now: they do lots of /who requests, and only the first one goes through.

    You could change it to

    /who g-"name of a populated pvp guild"

Since usually there are 1-3 BGs going on at once. It's a bad solution, but it's the only one that I can think of.

  3. Yeah, I just am sick of SotA and IoC, and unfortunately just joining those queues does not work well, we are quicker getting into them joining RBG, even if they are not the first (or second, or third..) BG.

I guess I could.... potentially... run a /who for Arathi Basin, WSG, EotS, and AV from alternative accounts... though I am not sure it is worth all that effort.

I am still hoping there is some way to run who more than once.... somehow...

  4. Personally, when I get in SotA/IoC I just go afk. You could leave and take the deserter debuff... Those are the options I know.

  5. So I think I have solved this :)

Although we cannot spam /who commands immediately after the invite, if we do a /who on SotA we are then able to do one after about 15/20s on IoC - if both are empty or full, basically once they do not show users filling up (not sure if the who updates without spamming it just yet - so far I just joined when they were empty) then you join knowing the RBG is for AB, WSG, EotS or AV which I am happy enough to play. We could probably get one more /who in if I wanted to avoid AV also.

  6. Just checked on Lordaeron, the query has a much shorter cd, so I'm hoping it'll be the same on Ragnaros and Deathwing soon™

I think you could get perhaps three /who in before the invite is cancelled.

I wonder if we run a /who too soon after the first one does it reset the a timer. Still testing...

They were actually throlled as they caused lag, it was simply to reduce queries sent to the server.

    But I guess everything's a conspiracy right?
