Hi, i have been trying to gear my pala for pvp, but getting honor as a horde player is so hard, i'd like to know if you guys have any tips for gearing up? Like focus on RBG or just a specfic BG...idk.
Im mostly farming EoT to get full furious and doing RDF HC to get shard to trade for honor in wintergrasp. Also, when does arena reset?
Anyways, thanks for the help and good luck for all xD
It depends on whatever you like. You can get furious main set with triumphs and wrathful offgear with honour, that's what I personally did. BGs suck until you're have at least 1000 resilience... And even after that.
I don't know if it's a fresh character or an older one, but if it's a fresh 80, do PvE for starters. Much easier to get gear and people won't hate you. Probably sounds a bit sudden but if you go into a RBG with 2k GS you can expect a bad attitude from them, and for the enemy you will be just a snack on the way. :)
*So get PvE gear, then go RBG, best as a paladin healer and stay behind the front line of battle. You will get HK from healing, you will help your teammates out and it will actually improve the chance to win if there is a healer in the team. Later with acquired PvP gear you can switch to retri or prot spec if you dislike healing.
*While gearing your PvE, there are weekly (I think) dailies in Wintergrasp. Horde camp is to the far west of Wintergrasp map, there you can get 3k-4k honor points which is not much, but it's something.
*With PvE gear you can participate in Vault of Archavon. On a weekly basis you have a chance to get PvP gear (VoA10 relentless/VoA25 wrathful). PvP drops are legs, gloves, wrist, back and waist. Not guaranteed that you will get something, but if you do get a bit lucky you can save up a lot of honor points as the wrathful off-set drops cost around 70k honor points.
*You yourself mentioned the stone keeper shards. Yes 30 of those shards can be traded for 2k honor. If you don't need anything else (like the mount), then yeah it's a good idea.
*Lastly you can make an arena team. Sure it won't be great, but you will get some arena points, save it up and get relentless set. (I would recommend getting head, shoulder and chest first as there is still VoA)
thanks for the replies. Well yes i have noticed that ally has more pvp players then horde...atleast doing bg. They could just be doing more pre made bgs too...idk xD
No its not a new toon, its not realy well geared yet but its at 5.8k gs, so its ok. Good tip about going holy, horde needs more healers. Ill check out the wintergrasp weekly or daily quest cause that will help out for sure.
