1. Paladins

So everywhere I go I see alarming numbers of paladins - more of them from alliance side and quite alot from horde too. It worries me that it will affect PvP / PvE on the server. I know that some of them may choose to go for Death Knight, once they are released but I think their numbers will still be much higher than any class. SInce leveling is slow, I doubt that people will be willing to level alot of alts either, so we'll be stuck playing with them. Now everyone knows that they give good buffs, but I think they won't be enough, class diversity will be needed for both PvP and PvE in order to make a good group. So what do you guys think ?

  2. Paladins are strong in WotLK. Nothing new to see. Roll a frost mage or hunter and enjoy life countering them. Roll a disc priest to completely destroy them.

Huh? You think people wont be able to clear raids because they are inundated with too many paladins or something?

You don't need to worry about this at all.

  4. Yeah there are palas everywhere and i'm one of them just on my way to max. level.

Some dungeon groups are formed only with palas. It will be quite hard to get good equip in endgame.

But i don't care, i never played a pala on retail so this is my time to shine ;-)

  5. LFM Naxx 10 1/2 Tanks 3/3 Healer 2/5 DPS [Paladin full]

    Thats how its gonna be.

Protip for every Paladin: join Guild outperform the other ones or be forever stuck getting no Invites/Gear in Raids :)

    same goes for DKs btw

  6. Well.... been told 2 things:

    1) they can roll any spec (tank, heal and dps)
    2) They are good on pvp

  7. "Good" in pvp is well put. They are alright and can perform "good" with little-to-no knowledge of the game and/or pvp. They are amazing while leveling.
A good holy paladin in end-game gear, pvp-wise, is a challenge for any class to kill.
Rets on the other hand I would consider average in the later stages of the pvp scene, with very few standing out generally. I'd put them on the same scale as say, feral druids, enhancement shammies, destro locks, assassination rogues, frost dks, bm hunters, etc. Good in bgs, decent in arenas. Few stand out.

Best class for casuals tho, great lore behind them. People love palas, they aren't going anywhere.

  8. Well, I'm not suprised that so many people play a paladin.
I've played almost every class in endgame PvE and paladin is one of he most enjoyable IMO. All 3 specs are great, quite simple, but still awesome. Holy remains my fav healer for 25 man raiding :D

Ofc. most guilds will close recruitment for palas and they will have a hard time joinning a PuG or gearing up... I wouldn't worry about the class balance in PvE, I mean in my guilds there's always that one guy who chooses to play an enh shaman or feral cat for some resaon.

  9. Retris are just typical braindead burst who win vs players without pvp gear. With resi gear ull just smash retris as their burst will become less powerful.

  10. Ret paladins are only good in mindless random BGs where they far green geared people thinking they are awesome.
Any decent pvper will just CC the **** out of the ret and kill him.

  11. Hm:) not rly. I mean true its easy to play a paladin, especially a retry one, but to be a really good paladin (especially a retry one) take some skils.

Many players chose paladins because on wotlk paladins are very powerful, they always do that. I remember in mop they all rolled monks and warriors, then when afli locks and resto shamans became op all rolled them and probably 1% of them were paladins, well i was part of that 1%, because no matter what expansion, how bugged and not fully working or fully working may them be i will always play a holy paladin as my main.

Ppls dont play with hearth, but is freedom to chose so i dont mind being in a realm overwhelmed by a certain class. Sooner or later if is needed, other class will shine to.

  12. Some of this comments are so funny, but the just show how stupid some people realy are, especially the butthurt ones. I've been thinking to not main a ret just because of such people, but why would I step away from my fav class/spec combo because of the general perception of people. I'm playing a ret as main ever since I started playing wow back in TBC, when they were, lets be honest, one of the ****tiest specs in the game, and I allways sticked with it, and I simply hate the wrong perception people have about them, yeah its simple to get into playing a paladin, but thats all, when it comes to the money, like high end raiding or PVP you can see big differences in skill. I can't honestly wait to see when we get WotLK and most of the pallys reroll DKs so people will finally stop talking **** about pallys and this wil pass down onto DKs.

  13. I was planning to tank on this realm, but due to the fact that it is full of either pallys or warrs, I wonder if I should still roll a tank or just try healing. I really hope that most of this pallys/warrs and eventually future dks will have a tank off spec, but I have my doubts :s

  14. Here's why there are about 8000% more paladins.

In wrath 3.3.5 (Coming Dec 10), Ret Pally and DK >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mage, Hunt, Rogue >>>>>>>>> Priest, Shaman, Druid, Lock, Warrior

I think everything will be fine. It is a highly desired class in pve, and the most popular healer in pvp while the other two specs aren't top-rank competitive.
Every raid will want at least one paladin, all 3 specs are strong in their own right, and every raid wants those buffs.

People complain about how faceroll rets are, how easy to play all 3 specs are. But let's be honest. Hand of Protection, burst damage, replenishment and strong tanks and tank healers are a requirement for progression raiding.
