DK Death Gate works properly?

We can't back to location when we was before use Death Gate, I dont think it should be like that, on my old server when I recast Death Gate I could teleport to place where I was before

Death Gate has never worked like that on here, nor on retail in WotLK.

That wasnt added until patch 5.4.8..... 2 whole expansions later.
