1. Rogue energy regen

Hi, I am still quite new to the class and after playing mdps classes such as a DK/paladin/warrior I find it kinda odd that rogue has to wait his energy to fill up for a while before using any ability. What I mean by this is that after the initial burst phase (of the assasination spec) you will generally need to wait 1-2 seconds before using mutilate, after you've used a 4/5CP Envenom. That doesn't always happen with the 51/13/8 spec, but still, I find it weird that there's a class with a spec that has to wait for so long to use an ability.

    The prio-rotation I use is:
    1. Stealth
    2. Bleed effect ability/Ambush
    3. SnD + engi gloves
    4. HfB
    5. Mutilate until 4/5 CP then Envenom.
repeat until overkill is over, vanish, reenter combat and doing the same from 5.

TL;DR: My question is, is there anything wrong with the way rogue energy regen works, or is it just my imagination/bad prio-rotation?
note: I haven't found any bugtracker reports that would answer this.

  2. dont use Ambush
use Mutilate out of stealth (Higher Chance of 3CPs + Chance of applying OH Poison)
    never clip Envenom buffs
try to pool some energy before you envenom to get 2 mutilates into one buff

energy always feels bad at the beginning of an addon because low haste.

Ty for the reply, I'll try doing as you advised.

  4. Opening with muti from stealth is plain bull****, since you need the bleed for HfB right away. You don't want to be waiting for some1 else to put it for you and lose dmg along the way. Stealth -> Garrote.

  5. The opener for Assa is:

    Prepot Haste > Stealth > Garrote > HfB > SnD > Muti 4-5 CP > Envenom.

You have to execute it as fast as you possibly can in order to get to your normal rotation of [HfB up > 4-5 Muti > Enve]. As it was mentioned, don't immediately dump Envenom when you have the CPs - instead wait for the Envenom buff to reach 0, so you can make the most from it and be as energy efficient as possible.

Occasionally, you can also Vanish and re-open for a HfB refresh and an Overkill proc.

  6. Opening with muti from stealth is plain bull****, since you need the bleed for HfB right away. You don't want to be waiting for some1 else to put it for you and lose dmg along the way. Stealth -> Garrote.
With the amount of hunters in any 25 man raid there is 100% a bleed on the target after the global you used on mutilate, this doesn't even account for warriors/hunters present in the raid aswell.
