1. Lordaeron Arms and Fury Warrior Stat Priority

    Hello to all warriors,

I just want to ask what is the stat priority for both arms and fury warrior in this patch?

It made me wonder why I see many warriors for both spec ignoring armor penetration.

    Thanks.

  2. because u cant stack it at this gear level, i believe

  3. Thanks, it makes sense. I should just probably aim for hit/expertise cap, then strength gems. I have to wait for Ulduar patch to get some armor penetration gears.

  4. If you can't get an ArP trinket and reach the soft-cap, you're better off gemming for Strength. ArP's value increases exponentially and only becomes better than Str past a certain point, whereas Str's value is always the same and higher than ArP at low gear levels. That's why all the Warriors you see now are stacking Str - because ArP is a bad choice at this content.

  5. Until you're at around ilvl264 average gear (so 25man T10) it's better to go Strength than Armor Pen. Armor Pen only really gets stronger when you're approaching the cap, the closer to the cap you get the stronger ARP becomes per point. I don't know what patch Lordaeron is running, but on Naxx/WOTLK Launch ARP was a weak stat.

It was only really during Ulduar when ARP was buffed that it become attractive, so people would get Mjolnir Runestone and then go for the soft cap (capped while trinket is procced) but that generally meant STR gemming.. This method remained optimal through T9, though at full ilvl258 (25man HC) gear some players experimented with Death's Choice x2 (Normal + HC) and trying to hit ARP cap, or as close as they could get to it... At this point it was roughly equal to gearing soft cap, but by far the majority of Warriors were still playing soft cap with Mjolnir Runestone, especially given that ARP was nerfed during this patch, making it require more ARP rating per %.

Anyway it was clear that the hard cap method would be the future, Deathbringers Will pretty much assured that would be much easier to achieve in T10, and the higher ilvl available in ICC 25man (ilvl264/277) also helped that greatly. That is when ARP truly passed Strength, at lower ilvl it's really all about Strength maximising and finding a good balance.
