Not sure if it has always been a trend to use chain lightning in single target, because I've read many guides and read many posts and none advice using CL over LB with elemental shaman in single target.

Sure, it has like a .30 seconds faster cast than LB but it doesn't justify using it in single target since LB scales better with spellpower and has a higher damage than CL.

I tested for 5 minutes without buffs or Elemental Mastery and my LB always had a base damage of about 13k while glyphed CL did 10k with my 392 ele shaman.

I did a steady 30-31k with LB after a solid 45k burst. With CL I did a bit less.

No its just *****s who are too lazy to press 1 more button and make a judgement between when to use CL or LB...

But GL to them spamming C, lower damage, a lot higher mana consumption.

That's why you cast CL after Lava burst so you get the reduced mana.
It's a proven fact that CL in your rotation is better dps. Source: Rawr
