WotLK queue on ragnaros alliance

Goodevening community,

3 days ago i changed factions from horde to alliance, today i wanted to do some battlegrounds again, so i queue'd for alterac valley
i,m the whole day in the queue and no game opens up for me while i see guildies play in alterac valley while being queue'd for 10 minutes and even an insta queue.

I don't know if my faction change has anything to do with it, just thought i mention it :)

at the moment i am in queue for random for 20 minutes and the queue timer says within a minute, so all battlegrounds don't work for me

n.b. : random took me 23 minutes, so it is working, i queue'd for arathi and warsong gulch and they don't work for me.

how? i,m just asking how i can fix this, nobody else seems to have this problem.

The queues in general, for Alliance side, take longer. Being a specific queue or a RBG, you have to be patient. That's why I don't swap Horde for anything, lol.

Don't fall in the temptation of making horde toons in order to queue and rush the same queue 'cause that's bannable. I'm aware of people who forced that and yeah... Issues happen if you do that.

i do understand that alliance queue are longer and thats fine by me, only thing that i don't understand that for the last hour i am in the queue for arathi and wsg and i cant get in while my guildmates queue for the same battlegrounds and they play those bg's all evening, somehow i cant get in...

I assume you're queueing specific BG's, right?

I'm not 100% sure about what I'm about to say so keep in mind that I can't be the most reliable source at the moment but I would advice you doing this in order to check if it's a queue issue or not. Relog and queue a RBG - No specific BG's - but a Random Battleground. I'm curious to see how much time it will take to pop for you. Usually the first 10 queuers get the BG. If you're in the 11th position you have to wait for a new one or for one of those ten players to not accept it (Warsong Gulch example). Even though there are a lot of premades running on the Alliance side, I find it weird that you're going through those issues.

Try to queue RBG and post the results.

Alliance queues are very long for one reason: there are many more Alliance people queueing for BGs than Horde. So for a Horde to queue a BG it takes very little time since there are a lot of Alliance available to initiate a BG. Depending on the time you play you're looking at minutes to potentially up to (but not limited to) 40 minutes.

If you really want to do BGs all day then I suggest going back Horde given the frequency of BGs that you will get. They far surpass what we'll ever get on the Alliance side. Alternatively, you could always find other things to do such as Arenas, World PvP, Wintergrasp (which the Alliance is very dominant in during peak (EU) times).

I don't really understand the relevance of this but yes, I'd avoid doing this at all costs as it is indeed bannable. BGs are pretty much fully functional so it's quite straight-forward (albeit time consuming) to do all the things you might want to do (perfection + other achievements). You either wait it out on the Alliance side or go Horde. Save yourself the trouble.

Even if it's not bugged, queueing for a specific bg on Alliance is like saying "I want to wait as long as possible".

Thank you all very much for your explenations, i really thought that the problem was with my account because i saw other guildies play in warsong gulch and arathi basin, they got in probably because they queue'd random. I allways played on horde and was used to the fast queue times so naturally when i changed to alliance a few days ago i thought something went wrong. Now that i am alliance i joined the perfect guild with friendly faces that are kinda a big family, so joining horde again is no option for me. Un till it is fixed i have to live with this issue.

On alliance it's quality on horde side quantity BG wise, not always but most of the times. Simple as that.
