So, I'm looking to either tank or DPS and wanted to get some class suggestions. The classes I like best are one's with more difficult rotations. Or, not necessarily difficult but I like to feel as if there's pressure on - I always want to have a button to click.
I'm not so interested in feral druids, or classes which operate around a similar theme of upkeeping a buff.
So, for tanking and DPSing - Which of these would you suggest, and how well does each class/roll perform? (Personally, if DK tanks are decent/fun it would be nice to be able to level a dps class and then start my tank at level 55, instead of doing 1-80 twice.)
Druid: Bear + Cat/boomie = Good tank, high stam but most boring tank (imo). Cat suffers DPS loss in high movement fights and personally bleeds and **** drive me nuts. Boomie hard to master but is wanted in raids for debuff.
Pala: Prot + Ret = Best tank atm, but Ret DPS is very difficult to master and takes gear. Fun to collect agi items for Ret BiS though. Most rets I see downright suck at DPS.
Warr: Prot + Arms/fury = Second best tank imo, block is super important with buffed raid bosses where melee mitigation is key. Warrior DPS is super ****ing gear dependent and you need to gear Ulduar for ArP if you want to be decent. At fresh 80 you will suck so bad you wont even know it.
DK: Blood tank + Frost/UH DPS = Worst tank due to buffed raids, Frost/UH tanks are not viable here so you are forced to go blood/damage soaking cluster**** spec. Also issues with AOE threat. Most fun tank imo, very challenging to master, great for soloing low-level content, if you get good you will make a name for yourself since DK tanks are rare and scarce. Frost DPS is insane atm (dual wield) and I've seen UH DPS with fraction of my GearScore doing equal DPS in 5-mans.
***All info only applies to Lordaeron, where we are still stuck on Ulduar progression and raid bosses are buffed***
