I downloaded the most current version and I dont seem to be getting the version with updated character models. This is for mac OS X.

Same exact problem. As a mac user I'm used to being overlooked and ignored by every gaming community...
Download the Windows client with the new models. Get these files.
Open the Windows client folder.
Open the Data folder.
Copy the patch-w.mpq file.
Open the enUS folder.
Copy the patch-enUS-w.mpq file.
Put those two files in the same location on your Mac client.
Just so everyone knows, Wotlk new MAC and wotlk old MAC are both one and same torrent.
