Consider increasing mob spawn rates please

I've noticed many people asking for a higher realm cap, which is great and all, but I feel like the mob spawn rates need to be addressed first.

It's almost painful leveling toons on this server due to the amount of people farming the same mobs.

Grouping does not help with quests to collect x number of ludicrously terrible drop rate items off a certain mob., and most mobs are usually dead regardless.
I've reached lvl 61, and I have not yet been able to do many quests to kill a certain boss or quest mob without having to wait 5-10 minutes for respawns. Obviously this doesn't apply to every quest, but I can comfortably say that it's the case for the majority.

Every time I grab a quest, I get to the quest location only to see it entirely deserted by the mob I'm supposed to kill, with a couple of other players, both ally and horde, just sitting around and also waiting for spawns and pacing back and forth on their mounts.
I've played retail on high pop pvp servers since 2005, and it's never been this disgusting, and raising the realm cap would make it even worse.

It's un-fun and it's literally just a giant waiting fest to see who can tag the mob before who, and could be easily fixed by raising the spawn rates (of regular mobs).

    Thank you for reading.

yesss 100% , i was trying to get a separate thread together mentioning some similiar stuff just like this. It's baaaad. Like really bad. in many cases, i've told people to literally just go mass genocide some random remote spot somewhere on azeroth where no1 goes because doing that would be stable.

I always try to avoid killing quest mobs, only going after them if I see someone questing it. You know how Hellfire mobs are, and Bonechewers seem to hold gears and cloths the most.... Could be an imagination though. They got overabundance of the mob so yeah. It's particularly more annoying in STV's Hemet Nesingwary quests tho, as if ganking there is not enough

Most people will kill you too if you're an enemy and quests the same mob, or just at least be in the vicinity of the quest mob lol

Slightly off topic but related, what bothers me more is the fact that some quest lootable object which only requires one single item unit without additional encounter has quite a long respawn. For example in Neutral : The book on Nexus. For example in Alliance (or both) : Mythology of the Titans, Bingles' Missing Supply, and that one quest a starting dwarf/gnome gets from the gnome in Anvilmar. These quests are by no means exploitable since the items are only there to be turned in and doesn't require multiple units like Northshire vineyards grapes or Deathkneel's supply crates.

Don't worry, it's fine as it is. You rarely have to wait for more that 10-15 minutes for that one last mob to respawn. Half an hour at most.

Just make yourself a cup of coffee or hang around in the forum. Or go and check the Auction house meanwhile, you can make lots of gold.

Hello everyone. At first i felt the same way. Especially when i started leveling my night elf warrior. One of the starting quests in the den full of furblogs (you have to gather 4 uniqe items scattered in the tunnels) can be really painfull when there are 6-7 people running around. The problem is when the shorter respawn time starts spawning mobs on top of people. Also personally for me the competition is fun. When there are people from my faction it's a race, when they are from the opposite faction - it's a battle. Usually poeple in the same area are close level and some of the best duels i had were for quest mobs.

Yeah. It's fun :) Also, the competition is the hardest in the first 10 levels, after that, it gets easier.

I would prefer faster mob spawn rates, but those are not the main issue in my opinion. It's the random quest items that you need to pick up from the ground that has absurd respawn times. Some of these items obviously have the 1min or less respawn, like they should all have in my opinion. But some have 5mins - 15mins respawn timer.

EDIT: There seems to be more quests with 5min+ respawn timers on items than quests with 1min respawn timer, if it were just a few quests with long spawns I wouldn't bother writing about it.

For example, the quest item at the bottom of the ship for alliance at the start of borean tundra.. Doing that quest with 2 friends, we had to wait for 10 minutes (2x 5min respawn timer) so everyone got the item. I know 10 minutes (or 20minutes for a group of 5 assuming that the first one to loot doesn't have to wait for spawn at all) is not that much, but considering the quest is "Go downstairs and pick up and item and come back" -quest, 10mins or even 5mins is not really a correct time to spend on it. in my opinion.

Another example: In howling fjord, in the catacombs, relatively early of the zone. There is a timed quest where you need to run past some ghouls to downstairs, pick up an item and run back upstairs. You have 10 minutes to complete the quest and if you don't succeed in 10 minutes it will be marked as failed and you need to abandon the quest and startover. The quest item downstairs has 3-5minute respawn timer, which means that if there is you +2 more doing the quest, one will fail the quest, or if you are doing this quest in a party, only 2-3 will be able to pick up the quest item in time.

Now I realize that this might not sound like much, but imagine that every second or third quest takes 5-15minutes extra waiting for respawn times. (That seems to be the ratio on northrend quests, at least that is how it feels for me.) Pick up 10 quests and while you are doing those 10 quests you will be waiting for respawns for at least 30-60minutes. Obviously this is a bigger problem for those who are questing in a large leveling wave (such as the wave created from the shutting down of nostalrius) and for those who like to do quests in a group with friends.

It's not "fun" to sit around for 15 minutes waiting for a mob to respawn, while new people come swooping in also trying to tag the mob not knowing you've been there for x amount of time.

You should probably reevaluate your absurd logic.

For the "respawns on top of people", this server is way too packed for that to remotely be a problem, it's not like I'm asking for 20 second respawn timers here.
Having to race against your own faction for mobs should not be a thing, you're allied. Battle wise, the Allly and Horde who want to would still attack each other regardless of spawn rates.
