Hey,
while having some free time during server restart I start to wonder.
Why Warmane never talked about making a Vanilia server?
I know this is impossible to create another expansion server since we have WotLK, Cata and MoP at the same time to maintain,
I know that having WotLK scripted doesnt mean having Vanilia scripted,
but look at this from other side...
Please, Cata lovers, dont hate me but Neltharion has less than 2000 pop at peak hours, what is a bit discouraging compared to popularity of WotLK.
MoP currently can not reach 3000 players online...
Also we all know how popular Nost servers was.
Doesn't it look like good direction for expanding Warmane popularity?
This is being asked like 2 or 3 times every month, but Warmane doesn't want to go back(it was said multiple times) so we won't get any Vanilla or TBC realms.
I would like to see a Vanilla and TBC server, but that's probably not going to happen and there are quite good reasons for it.
1. They can barely handle working on 3 expansions, and you can see that they are more focused on WotLK, then MoP, Cata is ignored. They cannot work on TBC and Vanilla.
2. It will be too expensive for Warmane staff to maintain the performance, they will need to buy new machines in order to have good stability, no lag and development.
3. In order to do that, they will also have to hire new developers, game masters, and more, and that is not free too.
4. Kaer is not a millionaire, and eventually Warmane has it's limitations.
5. Nostalrius was quite popular private Vanilla server, it was that popular simple because they didn't have SHOP and their server was like 100% bug fixed
6. We cannot say for sure that if Warmane opens Vanilla and TBC, there will be tons of new players and such. Unless you can see the future.
It seems pretty likely that Blizzard will have (or at least license) their own Vanilla server shortly. Wouldn't make sense for a private server to jump into that expansion.

2 to 3x a month? More like 2 to 3x a day most days now.
But F'it, i'll ask here since no one seem to answer me on that last Vanilla thread. If you insist on playing on a Vanilla/TBC Realm why does it have to be a "Warmane" server? There are servers out there are a lot more dedicated to Vanilla and TBC then what Warmane would wanna be, so why not just ya know, go play there instead of complaining here?
A simple google search can bring up those servers and you can head over to Dodgykebaabs Youtube channel if you wanna get a review on how the server plays, handles, and a general population.
I gather you haven't been following recent events about a meeting in the next few weeks between Blizzard and representatives of a former Vanilla private server.

Yeah, I know about that but they won't give us legacy realms, they'll give us pristine servers and then tell us 'see we were right, you thought you wanted it but you don't'
