Any advice for what race to play as a hunter? (Alliance)
I've been trying to decide what alliance hunter race to make as I love min-maxing.. But I've been having a bit of trouble deciding which of the two is the best.
Dwarf is pretty much out of the question as the best weapon is not a gun in 3.3.5 and Stoneskin is not that interesting of an ability to me.
Should I go with the Draenei for the heal+Hit chance or does that become almost useless once you're fully geared? And with how bursty people are in pvp I doubt that the heal with make that much of a difference a majority of the time.
Or should I go Nightelf for the dodge, higher agility+stam and the always amazing Shadowmeld?
So in your opinion what is the best hunter race on the alliance, and why? PvE wise, and PvP. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
(And before someone says, play what you like or yada yada... I like the make my characters the best they can be so I am trying that right now.)
For PvE night elf is hands down the better race since it is not hard to be put into a group with a draenei; Nelves have the most agility in their base stats. You will be MM in endgame PvE since it is the superior dps spec.
Night Elves are my favourite because I love to negate ranged attacks with Shadowmeld. You can use it as a second feign death in PvP also.
For PvP my choice would be between Night Elf and Dranei. Shadowmeld in itself is already an incredibly useful racial which can be useful in all scenarios.. It also has a 2 minute cooldown comapred to Gift of the Naaru's 3 minutes. You will easily reach the hit cap in PvP endgame gear so the Draenei racial isnt as important however it can still be useful against Ret Paladins and Rogues. The heal is mediocre (Heals about 7-8k in full gear) and can be cut in half by healing reduction.

I would, unfortunately have to disagree with that; apparently after all it is hard to get put into a group with a Draenei, so if you absolutely want to max your (average) personal DPS, Draenei is the way to go.
However, Nelf does offer the most utility.

in PVE terms
Never had a problem with a lack of Draneis; there are at least 2 or more in 25 man raids (The elemental and Resto and perhaps enhancement). There can also be other classes which are draenei.
But yes, Dranei is the way to go if you're alone but Nelf is superior when absolutely maxed with class buffs; which is what you will probably doing because after all it is pve.
A nelf comes out ahead by roughly 15 agi and 2 intellect. It's a clear advantage, but does in my opinion not outweigh the safety of being your own draenei. 1% hit is always going to be more valuable (provided that you need it) than 15agi/2int.

The problem is ignorant and/or complacent raid leaders who keep putting the resto shamans into the healers group, and all the likes of that so yeah
At the very least thats been my experience, and thats with decent raiding guilds mind you, which is unaffordable luxury for many. Good luck with pugs
