Lava Burst vs Chaos bolt, whiich wins??

Imo i see Chaos bolt being so incredibpy superior.

Lava burst needs to have Flame shock first and isn't as good vs resists/absorbs

Chaos Bolt on the other hand needs immolate and curse of elements on the target to do max possible dmg.
But most importantly CB goes thru all the absorb bubbles ect. so i think just this fact makes it superior.

Lava burst needs flame shock allthough if someone dispells it, your goin to get alot of haste wich makes the following spells cast faster and kinda evens the damage per second out.
Chaos bolt though soaks trough absorbtion effects like DK's AMS and Anti magic zone, Priests Bubbles etc and most times people pop those skills when they are in trouble, so if your lucky you will finnish them off with it, Most warlocks does the misstake to cast chaos bolt first though instead of save it after 3 quick incinirates wich them will make them panic and pop cd's only to finnish them off with Chaos bolt.

Imo chaos bolt wins, but shamans in general, specially elementals are superior in many other ways such as the 6 sec CD silence, Heals, Totems, Hex. Ghost wolf and Much better surviveability in general.

Something most people forget, by the way - Chaos Bolt goes through Cheat Death, instantly killing the rogue through the proc. The reason is because Cheat Death's proc absorbs the spell, which takes the rogue low. Since Chaos Bolt cannot be resisted, it also goes through Cloak of Shadows ;) Very few warlocks actually know these two things and even fewer use them.

Why is this discussion going on anyway? Are you thinking of an arena spellcleave? Because Ele + Destro is one of the strongest spellcleaves in WotLK. Not many can survive against a combined burst of ~35-40k mixed spell damage, part of which ignores resistances and absorbs.

So far i'm questioning the design of lava burst and how it was no where as good as chaos bolt.
