So I'm kinda new to the server, anyways. I saw some people play casino and later I decided to host my own. I announced my casino but never actually played it. After a while I got banned for four weeks. (Your account has been suspended for 4 weeks due to Scamming). I never even played casino so it's impossible for me to have scammed anyone. I've written a ticket about it 3 days ago but haven't got any answer yet. I also saw a thread about this guy who actually played casino and didn't get banned just a warning. (http://forum.warmane.com/showthread....ghlight=CASINO). I wonder why I would be threaten diffrent from others.
Sounds kinda harch to ban someone for 4weeks without a warning, atleast when its just about Casino.. You should atleast get a warning so you could improve.
the casino 'game' is usually just a gold farming method that comes in 2 tastes:
take gold from player give him a 1/3 chance to take his gold back double (if he /rolls above 65)... so assuming an average run of rng... you'll end up taking around 1/6th of the gold over the course of a theoretical game where the 'player' has a barely tapped amount of gold and doesn't run out before he can win it back... if he does actually "give you his last 10k" and loses, then you actually get all of their gold...
or it's a different type where it's not so much casino as it is Russian roulette:
5 players, each betting 10k, highest roll wins all the gold
in this situation there's no big margins of profit being made by host and all players have an equal chance of winning dependent on number of players... if 2 play it it's 50-50 with double profit, if 3 play it's 1/3+1/3+1/3 with 3x profit... and so on and so forth
now the first one is basically... bannable because it really is just a get rich quick scheme
whereas the second... don't know if staff considers it bannable but it shouldn't be because over the course of a decent sample of 1000 games, you'll likely end up with around the same amount of gold you started with while the first would leave you with at least 1/6th less
Staff is right no matter if you played it or not, they went with the principle of precaution, they banned you before you could do harm to other people, the same way I believe they will ban people selling accounts even before the trade is settled because it is a old scam tactic
If you play casino ingame WoW, which is not allowed here you'll get punished.
If you break laws in real life you`ll get punished.
If you didn't know about those laws, rules then it is your fault.
So my opinion on this is, that all who break rules should and must get punished without an exception. Maybe the rules changed, that another guy did not receive something like you did, but you deserve what you got.
And even if you didn't play it, or maybe you did. You still announced it so it does not matter.
Thanks for your opinion. The rules haven't changed and that what makes me most upset. Why should I be threated diffrent than other members of this community? I would also like to talk with a GM about this just to make everything sure.
You seem to have an issue with reading rules before anything else, since using the post to complain about bans is against the Forums rules...
Either way, the options you have are a ban appeal with a Support ticket or sending a PM to the Head GM (http://forum.warmane.com/member.php?836535-Aldtharios). The "opinion" of the community isn't relevant to bans, especially when they don't have the whole story, only whatever you post.
