1. Server Rate and Gold squish

Hi, i am not sure right now, are you going to change the server rates at 1.10.?

I dont realy care much about the gold squish, but maybe you should consider a safe zone per account, i would suggest something like:

Each account can have up to 10.000 gold, that will be untouched, every gold beyond that is being halved or completly deleted, i dont care.

So you protect casual gamers and punish money sacks that destroy the economy.

It would be nice, if you would let the rates as they are. For me, there are 2 reasons i started playing:

First: the rates are good, x5-x7 is just perfect for me, i get a good progression without being bored or frustrated
Second: The number of players i can play with

If you change the rates to blizzlike, i would just stop playing. The slow progress was the reason i quited WOW long ago.

Sure, you can say, whatever, we dont care for 1 single player, but maybe you look to the development Lorderon/Icecrown.

I dont realy understand, why you are changing Reputation from x5 to x1 that is just a huge pain, i would never try to get exalted to any fraction this way.

Changing the professions from x5 to x1 is very hard as well.

I dont realy see the point in doing that, if you want to reduce the speed of progress than go step by step so people get used to it.

    Something like:

from 01.10. rates are going down from x5 to x4
from 01.01. rates go down to x3

and than WAIT and see what happens

  2. You don't understand because the real reason they're doing this has nothing to do with the in-game economy. They want us to spend more actual money on the game, so they're making it harder to be on everyone's favorite server (unless *gasp* you spend your cold hard cash on it). Icecrown is right in that sweet spot were I love my servers to be-- I've played this game so long that the time it takes to grind away at it isn't something I really want to waste time doing anymore, but I still like to do a bit of questing and what not, not too long, not too short, just right. But simply because they want to drag more $$ out of us, they're going to basically ruin that. What they're doing makes absolutely no sense unless you factor that alternate motivation in.

I've been on this server for a few weeks and it seems to be more of a dictatorship than a democracy. I'm not sure they will listen to us, especially since they're motivated by profits. This server will go the way of every other money grubbing server eventually. We play private because we don't want to have to spend hundreds of dollars, but that point seems to get lost in translation somewhere.

what is this marxist absurdity, it's equality of opportunity not equality of outcome you commie.

  4. Not sure if you're being facetious or not. If not, what he's saying is that new accounts should be able to hold onto some of their gold. Old accounts have hundreds of thousands of gold spread between their characters, so when the server halves the gold, they wont really care. But new players will be heavily discouraged by watching their first few thousand gold get sucked away into cyberspace, myself included. That's not equality of opportunity or outcome.

  5. So just whack those wealthy people down just as low as what the have-nots who haven't put any effort into the server yet have... to make them feel better? How is that not equality of outcome.
