Can anyone please explain to me how the merge system works?
Could you please make examples and explain clearly who is eligible for it and how it works?

The merge is an option for players who had more than 10 characters in the two servers that were merged to create Icecrown, since the client just doesn't supports more than that amount. It's not available for any other case.
