Heyho, I was wondering wether this topic has ever been discussed before (or lately) seeing how Cataclysm has the lowest population of all 3 expansions. I have been playing here for a while now but I just recently noticed that Cataclysm items are the most expensive (not counting Lordaeron) and I am positive that there is (or was?) a reason behind this. However, with the release of MOP and Lordaeron Cataclysm pretty much lost 70-80% of its population and I kind of feel that it doesn't deserve to have the most expensive marketplace anymore.
I am not saying this because I want cheaper items on the marketplace so I can buy them, I have already donated a BiS char which is now rotting there...I say this because your beautiful trade system doesn't allow players to set the price for their characters and instead uses a fixed value. I believe it checks the coin value for each item that is equipped (plus inventory if you include that) and sets the price accordingly? Given the current marketplace situation, the prices for Cataclysm characters are ridiculously high and no one will buy them. Ever.
So this topic is a question and a suggestion at the same time. If it is the way I described it above, then I think the prices for Cataclysm items should be adjusted to the existing circumstances? Moreover, it is not really inviting new players to donate the way it is right now. Although we all know cataclysm needs it the most.
Did I miss something? Maybe it is calculated differently? Just thought I'd post this and give you something to think about. I am still kind of salty that Icecrown is enjoying 12k while we are stuck at 1k...wtb merge :c
with (example: ret paladin best in slot) - ignoring smourne for obvious reasons
being glorenzelg priced at 23 coins
and gurthalak priced at 32 coins and even its raidfinder version being 27 coins...
I can totally see your point here
but without seeing decapitator in mop marketplace I can't say if they think later expansion should have higher prices for best in slot or just plain value them by some different metric
