Hello guys. I know this question has been made before but can you tell me what is the most needed class/ role on the server at end game?

Arent paladins overplayed? How about prot warriors ? Or druid bear?
What about the horde side? Could anyone tell us which role and which class is more needed? Thanks for the help for a newcomer :)
I would say these classes are the most wanted (for now):
1. Warlock;
2. shaman;
3. mage;
4. druid;
5. hunter.
As you can see, ranged classes are wanted the most. It's almost impossible to get into a raiding core group as a melee class these days. The only possible way I would say is to have lots of contacts who can help you get into a good raiding guild if you want to be a melee dpser. I'm sure melee tanks are needed aswell, but not as much as the classes I listed up above.
I believe this goes for both Alliance and Horde.

Can confirm Ryuuto's list. From personal experience, Shamans are higher in demand than it is for warlocks. Slap a shadow priest high in that list as well.
If you are unsure of what class to play, what spec, role or class choose a class that can do it all or at least more than 1 thing. There's 3 main roles in the game, damage, healing and tanking.
Magi, hunters, rogues and warlocks can only deal damage. Priests and Shamans can deal damage or heal. Warriors and Death Knights can deal damage and be Tanks. And Paladins and Druids can deal damage, heal and tank.
When people say that there's a need for Paladin healer or tank people respond that there's already a lot of Paladins... The issue is that a lot, really, a lot of... And this is not only for Paladins, this goes for all classes, the mayority of the players only play 1 role, and it's mostly dealing damage. This is because it's more "fun". More active, you kill people, you can play with your camera zoomed in so you can actually see your character's animations and the fight and everything, and it's easier and there's not a lot of pressure or "responsabilities" like on the other 2 roles.
I think that it really does not matter what classes/specs are the most needed or the least played. If you want to play something that is needed or uncommon or not being played a lot play a healer or a tank, as your main spec, and try to level with that spec, if you are able to do that, you will be fine, if not, change to DPS and continue like that and be happy, the other 2 roles were not for you.
Also note that Mage, Warlock and Priest are cloth wearers, they are the ones with the least armor, armor is to prevent physical damage, which is what the mayority of the mobs and players do, so keep in mind that it may be harder to level this classes.
When choosing a class I like to also remember that some classes have to change stances or auras/seals/judgements, poisons, or have to control a pet/minion all the time.
Maybe all Paladins have tried or try to play Tank and healer but the thing is that they don't like it or everyone gets angry at them or they don't like to be responsible of keeping the whole raid, group, partners alive or out of threat/trouble. So they don't play it or they are just not good at it so guilds/raids don't want them. That's why there's always a need for tanks and healers.
Priest is the only healer that uses cloth. It is the only class with 2 specs/talent trees for healing, and it is the best healer in PvP because it can also be the most offensive/aggressive. It's also the class with the most utility spells, spells that require skill, not stats or gear. Paladins and Druids are more wanted and played because of reasons. There's a bunch of really good Priests that just can't find the right raid or pvp partner to play with. It takes more than a hundred games to start learning to play with someone, and most people don't have that patience.
Also keep in mind if you want to be ranged or melee, most ranged classes or healers/tanks have to play with the camera zoomed out because they want to see what's around them, mobs, enemies and friends. So you will miss the "action" like the animations and lights and explosions and cute little things that happen in the game. It's not for everyone.
Healing is THE King, crowd control is the Queen and Tanking is a Prince. Dealing DPS is what everyone does, don't worry about being DPS, they are everywhere and most of them are really good at it, because it's an easy thing to do and you don't need to worry about other players. Since DPSers are the mayority of the people, if they die, everyone will vote or give their opinion, so at the end it will be the tank's or healer's fault.
Play a DPS.
God bless,
Blessindress.
I have seen end-game guilds that are looking for shamans and rDPS. Also dual spec druids are searched.
