Hi everyone, i've been playing for about 4-5 months on lord, swapping between alts and so on, but seeing the population decrease made me want to swtich to icecrown. The problem is, i don't really like increased xp realms. Altough, i did notice that leveling on lord has been WAY slower than on blizz servers nowadays. My question is, how is leveling on icecrown comparable to blizzlike, and if the population difference was always like that. Thanks.
From my viewpoint, vanilla is pita in leveling and same goes for the profession. If you play till the end of wotlk, you'll learn that blizzard tried to improve the leveling experience from expansion to expansion. Basically I'll say that the icecrown is more of end game and if you like to play multiple class. If you like to grind a lot then just stay at lord. Population wise is hard to say. When lord launched, who the hell knew that lord will reach 12k+ and who knew that after few months the population dropped half.
in case you did not know yet, on 1 October Icecrwon will has different rates:
Experience: x7
Gold rate from x7 to x3
Weapon skills from x5 to x3
Profession rate from x5 to x1
Reputation rate from x7 to x1
So basically xp x7 and gold x3 comprated to Lordaeron as difference
You really think so? I was recommended to Lordaeron (which foremost, I love) due to a high population. Getting here I noticed Icecrown is where the players are.. I don't want a high-rate realm so, I'll pass on it. But... did Lord use to be greater?

Yes, if you want the truth, Lordaeron used to reach 12k with high queues aswell before they merged Deathwing and Ragnaros servers into Icecrown
Well the thing is, Lordaeron was the one who had 12k players + queue but many people with the old accounts from Molten on either Deathwing or Ragnaros came back after the merge of those 2 because there are more players to play with. Well that was a stupid move but anyway...
What exactly do you mean with this sentence? They should have left Deathwing + Ragnaros separated, and let them rot with 2k peaks, so your favourite Lordaeron server still could have 12k? Please do explain

quite a lot of us only went to lord because it had the new core. we were simply waiting for the new core to be implemented on the other realms. if ragnaros/deathwing had of had the new core when lord was launched, i doubt you would of seen such high numbers on lord.
