A week ago I redownloaded Wotlk and used the same program to make it large adress aware, but it didn't work and the game keeped crashing, even after I used that program.
Today I deleted and and downloaded Wotlk & that program again, used the program to make it large adress aware and it's not working again. 6 months ago it worked without any problems.
I am using the same addons that I used 6 months ago and the same video options.
I also keep getting memory crashes in Dalaran since some while, even if it worked perfectly fine before. It's definitely not my hardware, because I have 32gb of RAM.
It works perfectly normal when I log in while in Dalaran, but if my client has been running for some while and I take a few steps, it crashes.
I assume that it is mostly because how WotLK client was scripted.
Remember, WotLK was scripted back in 2009 and back then, PCs had only 4 gb, 6gb RAM at top. (At an affordable price.)
Laa certainly does remove that 2 GB cap, but there still is an internal cap at 10 GB+ according to my experience.
Someone who is experienced in Lua programming could probably juggle around some codes and definitely avoid this issue, but certainly not recommend unless you have 32 GB+. Sometimes it pitches up to 20 GB which will beat your Windows back into 1990s.
The sad thing is that 6 months ago that LAA program fixed the crash issues and I remeber WoW consuming 3 GB RaM and still working, now when the game gets to 1650 Mgb RAM it crashes. I don't know why that program is not working now...
