1. [Icecrown] Give small gold rewards every 5 levels (if that is possible)

Basicely, leveling for the first time on Icecrown is a pita if you dont go begging, the exp rates mean that you get way to little gold as a new player which can be very frustrating. Just getting lvl 20 riding can take forver if you dont meet someone nice.

A small automated mail giving 5 gold every 5 levels or so (can be more, can scale, whatever) would allow new players to buy the skills and riding they need which would make it a lot easier for someone brand new to level up here.

  2. I just thought this post was about Lordaeron and how hard it is to earn gold... but then i read again and i see "Icecrown", please if you're newbie just take a look at the Guids and Tutorials in this forum and you will findout the way to make some gold.

  3. Ahahhaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahaahhahaha

  4. Step 1 - Pick up a gathering profession

Step 2 - Go gather stuff

    Step 3 - Make $$$$ on AH

Invest in bags, sell everything you find, take mining and herbalism->sell on AH->get rich.

  6. One goldshire mine run will profit you enough for many first lvls of skills and stuff by selling copper ores and rough stones.

  7. the problem is quest rewards arent enough to sustain you in gold for skills like it used to before rates got changed, and that is certainly how it used to be back in Retail.

i always toss noobs like 10 gold when they ask because it really does suck.

  8. I gief dose lil gold beggers my secret gold recipe...

  9. Last I checked Copper ore stacks went for 100g on AH. Are you out of your mind? You can spend 1 hour a day farming and have 10k gold by the end of the week. If not more.

It doesnt fit the leveling flow, yes you can make decent money quite easily (not as much as a new char though, running around farming copper against people with mounts that dont care about mobs at all does cut into the profits) but it doesnt fit the whole idea of fast leveling and 80 being the real game.

Its a major pita for newer players and it is imo not really needed. Level 1-10 in 15 minutes, great now run around for an hour to pay for the skills just isnt a good flow of the game, in my opinion.

Thus i think, a small gold income to offset the lack of natural income would do wonders for newer players.

(i have 80s on icecrown, this doesnt affect me personally, but it something i noted a lot, and i do give new players 10-50 gold whenever i can, just for that, before people attack me personally for being lazy)

  11. Most absurd suggestion of the year?

  12. You got rated boost in Icecrown. I played in Lordaeron and was fairly new to WoTLK environment when I entered Warmane. Never complained every single time even though I get behind in mounts.

Farming gray items, selling cooked stuff, etc. are your best solution early on

The bag drop rates in 1-10 area needs to be increased though. Even Vanilla gives you 6 slot bags generously

It fits leveling flow perfectly. Just depends how you level. If you want to brainlessly quest for a day to get level 80 and have lvl 20 items equipped when you do hit 80 ofc you will be broke. When I level, I only struggle for gold the first 5 hours I would say. After that I start making enough gold for not only skills, riding but also greens items on AH. Some players say don't buy leveling items on AH you out-level them too fast. But I say rubbish. If green items at low level help you kill mobs quicker or defend yourself against other players who want to gank you, I say go for it. I have many accounts and many characters(I play since 2010). And from experience I can say that when I level a character and don't send him any gold from a main char. I end up enjoying myself on that character more and also I end up rich on that character because I know that I have to actively look for way to make gold since I don't have enough either for flying or skills or big bags or even dual talent spec. So I end mixing up farming, reselling on AH, reselling items from vendors and becoming rich that way.

Lordearon makes you level slow enough that you get gold the natural way, and even there you have to farm a tiny bit to get mounts and the skills you need. On icecrown you level so fast that if you wanted to actually earn gold to buy skills and riding and so on youd spend as much time, if not more, farming gold then you would spend leveling.

Yes, you can farm ore to make up for that, but that takes a lot of time and very soon will no longer be as good as it is right now (gold squish and rates having been reduced).

It doesnt fit the flow of leveling and makes the server for brand new players quite annoying if you dont beg or meet some kind 80.

Giving small gold sum to new players for leveling, or totally reducing the cost of riding skill up to outland flying and normal skills up to level 70 by 90% or so would change nothing at all for older players, but would make leveling for newer players a lot more fun and streamlined. And players also are content in mmos, the more the better.

  15. The problem is that gold granted by selling trash loot from questing mobs doesnt scale with the higher realm rates.
On a x1 realm selling all the trash loot from mobs to vendors makes around 50℅ of ur total gold income while leveling.
On a ×7 realm u kill 7 times less mobs until u level up, means u have 7 times less trash loot and consequently 7 times less gold from trash loot in ur pocket.

Similiar to gold rewards from quests the Gold rewarded from trash loot would also need to increased to x7 on Icecrown.
