1. Sub rogue glyphs?

What would be good(best?) glyphs for sub rogue pvp?

Glyph of Backstab seems pretty good in this version of WoW, what u think?

    plz help a nob :D

edit: oh wait... u need to backstab to get the effect.. so does Rupture has to be already applied before using the backstab to get the boost? ok maybe its not so good xD

wat about these 3 for pvp:
    Glyph of Vigor
    Glyph of Rupture
    Glyph of Gouge
or Glyph of Sprint(what to replace of those 3?)

  2. It's Preperation, Shadow dance and the last one is up to preference. It's either Sprint, Vigor or Gouge, my personal recommendation would be Sprint tho.

  3. I run Hemo, vigor, Shadow Dance

  4. Shadow Dance / Preparation / Hemo, Sprint, Gouge

Shadow Dance is basically mandatory for obvious reasons. As your primary cooldown for both damage and utility, you want as much uptime as possible. An extra 2 seconds is definitely worth a glyph.

Preparation is less mandatory, but strongly advised. Although this glyph is primarily taken for the reset on Dismantle, It's also very useful for the reset on Kick. This allows you to use dismantle offensively against warriors (to stop Shield Wall) but also still have a Preparation+Dismantle in case you need to stop damage output or stop a Bladestorm. Unglyphed Preparation already resets Shadowstep's cooldown, so having 2 Shadowstep+Kicks through Preparation is also extremely useful.

The third glyph is mostly preference, but there is some math to consider behind it and use that to determine your decision based off of playstyle.

Glyph of Hemorrhage is *okay* for a sustained damage playstyle, but you should be playing assassination if you prefer this playstyle. The 40% damage bonus on the Hemorrhage debuff moves the buff from ~75 increased damage at 10 charges to ~105 increased damage at 10 charges. This is effectively an additional 300 damage through constantly maintaining hemorrhage. To me, that's not enough damage to sacrifice a major glyph slot. The reason why I consider Hemo a waste is because of how global cooldowns line up with Shadow Dance.

If you're constantly spending energy to maximize the number of Ambushes during Shadow Dance (assuming you start with a full energy bar and maintain Cheap Shot/Kidney Shot the entire time), you typically get 3 Ambushes with ~30 energy left as Shadow Dance ends. With Glyph of Vigor, you get an additional 10 energy (which puts you at 40 energy at the end of Shadow Dance) and essentially means you get an extra Ambush (even though you'll be ending with around 0 energy). Ambush hits a lot harder than what the Hemorrhage debuff (glyphed) can compensate, so for this reason, Vigor is a better glyph choice for a burst playstyle.

Even then, it's worth noting that if you have any kind of noticeable lag, your global cooldown will probably not line up exactly consistently enough to *guarantee* a 4th ambush. Also, getting hit with virtually any CC will forfeit this additional Ambush that Glyph of Vigor theoretically gives. Because of this, I prefer Glyph of Sprint. The amount of utility that this glyph provides (being able to match mount speed) is pretty incredible and accommodates both a bursty/damage-oriented playstyle as well as a support-oriented playstyle. It gives you more uptime because of the speed increase, and this equates to additional damage. The additional mobility also allows you to use CC to control the pace of match more efficiently. I believe Glyph of Sprint is the most versatile 3rd choice.

Glyph of Gouge is playstyle-dependent to a certain extent. In my personal opinion, 30 energy is reflective of an ability you use on cooldown (any time it is up, you use it). This is *not* what Gouge is designed for. The 15 energy reduction would put Gouge at 30 energy, and with that low of a cost, you're just going to end up screwing yourself with diminishing returns. Gouge is a situational/setup ability. It's not designed to be used as a CC on cooldown (especially if you're playing with a Mage; you'll slaughter their Poly DR).

Situational Glyphs for the 3rd slot include Cloak of Shadows and Tricks of the Trade. CoS can be a great defensive against Warrior teams. It's essentially a 1 minute cooldown Shield Wall against the Warrior. It's pretty strong. However, it's really only worth considering this if you're sniping War/Pal or War/Disc. Tricks of the Trade is pretty strong for rogue mage since you're always dealing damage in ~10 second time frames. Ideally, your Mage partner gets a full 15% damage bonus for every kill attempt.

Glyph of Backstab and Rupture are rarely used. Bleeds are fairly situational for Subtlety, and even then, neither glyph is giving a significant damage boost (just an ease in managing bleeds). The only other Glyph that could be reasonably considered is Glyph of Eviscerate, but Evisc is not significant enough in damage and burst kill attempts for Subtlety to be worth glyphing solely for critical chance.

I really hope this helps, even though it's a bit lengthy! Good luck and have fun!
