i'm wondering about the character trade table. I do have the problem that when i last played on warmane (it was Molten back then) i did some donations on several Characters mainly for the Warsong server back then. Some day they deleted it and there was just Neltharion left for Cata Players. When i came back few weeks ago i saw that there is no more high population on this server. I do have a fully geared Priest on Neltharion which is now completly useless to me. Since there is no refunding of coins i decided to trade my Character but i cant understand why you cannot chose your own price. So im trying to sell a character which has a ''worth'' of 500 coins and i guess that no one will buy it since its alot of coins for a realm with a population of around 400 ppl playing. This is where i find myself a bit pissed off.
Can someone explain me this whole scenario in detail or what im able to do mb ?

The minimum cost of a character is decided based on every item coming with it, with the costs for those items in our own Marketplace in mind. Character Trading already has a discount on the price when compared with if every item was acquired individually, and we aren't going to further cripple our Marketplace just so players can trade unwanted characters for coins. What you can do is not include inventory, which usually is often the main thing that increases the cost.

Ok thanks for the quick response. I just want to point out that im not in a state where my character is unwanted and i want to dumb the price. It's just a clear fact that you have no chance of trading a character with such price on such a low Population Server. Furthermore its not even the coins i invested back then. I cant look up a history of donation since it was Molten back then, but its quite a difference. I really do want to play my Character but the circumstances have changed drastically. I even dont know why the Population is that low.

Well, the minimum price isn't going to change, unless the costs in our own Marketplace change, and I haven't heard of any intention for that to happen. As I said, the cost is decided based on what your character has, not on what you donated. A player that donated the minimum once and tries to trade a character with all bags filled with items that cost 10 coins each in our Marketplace is going to have a prohibitive price just the same.

The diffrence between full inventory and just equiped is in my case 450 at lowest and 500 at highest. So that comes within the fact that my Priest is almost fully donated and does not has any gear left in the bags. As i stated in my first post, my donations were orginally on Warsong (PVP Server) and i had several Items on several Characters like the typical Weapon/Trinket Donations like many People back then. When Warsong was closed i was left with all my coins which i invested into a single character. Thats just around what happend round my donations. I dont know if it is relevant that there is a clear inflation of coin prices through the years. What i try to point out is the fact that im left alone with my ~150€ Donations now stuck on a Character on a realm with zero demand.

I get what you want to point out, just not what you expected to be done because of the specific circumstances you found yourself in.

Well i guess cant expect anything to be done since there is no refund nor a realistic chance of getting coins back via trade. I mean i wasnt even expecting to get back everything or make profit. But left with nothing is really unfortunate.

Well, the original plan was to upgrade Neltharion to Mists of Pandaria, but players were quite vocal about wanting to play on Cataclysm and wanting to remain in that expansion, understanding it would have the least focus in development if we kept it. The population also used to be higher, but it seems that previously mentioned understanding didn't go all that far. I suppose in your current position, all things considered, the best to do is consider that as a "back up" and wait to see what happens to Neltharion, if it gets updates that attracts more players or if it ends up past the point where it's viable keeping it and characters are transferred to Mists.

Ok that's at least something even if have no other choice then just wait anyways. But if another Realmcluster would happen, wouldn't this lead to a coin refund like what happend when Warsong was closed?

I don't remember any coin refund happening, just characters being transferred to Neltharion. I could be wrong, but are you sure there was one?

Im not 100% sure if this was due to the fact that Warsong was closed or the Crash that happend. Its too far away that i can remember what happend but I had a coin refund. That im sure about. I do see what your talking about in terms of this MoP Transfer. Im reading several Threads about this right now and i wonder if anyone had an individual choice of transfering to MoP or if it just was about closing Neltharion and putting focus on MoP. I mean from what im reading right now I see that my problem is more present then before. Now i do see why here is no more population and even that there will be no change to this. To me the situation is now even clearer. You know im not bound to a specific Expansion since i enjoy new things from time to time. But if the Warmane staff decides to leave Neltharion behind, i find it total legit, but then it should be allowed, at least, to get a coin refund. I did not payed that much money to play on server which is left out by now.

Yes, you're talking about when Molten became Warmane and coins were given again. Warsong closing just meant characters being transferred to the server in the same expansion. And no, there's no availability of individual choice to transfer to a different expansion at the moment. Certain things are being considered alike to that, but nothing has been released yet (as far as I'm aware it's just under internal discussion). Aside from that, I can only see Neltharion closing to make it so people can transfer their characters - transfer, not get refunds; I personally don't see refunds happening, but it might be because of personal bias... after all, are you going to refund us all the use you made of the items you acquired, all the fun you had, all the time you spent with that, and so on?

Once again im telling you that im not intentionally trying to get rid of my character to get coins refunded. I came here with a question regarding this whole system with trading etc and found it unsatisfying not to be able to sell a character on neltharion. But now that you stated about the whole MoP transfer thing. I took my time and read the Neltharion forums. As i said before to me it is totally legit that your staff decided to put focus on MoP (since WotLK had always priority as its origin) but now that Neltharion is left out due to that fact, you cant deny People asking for a refund at least. That's just my personal opinion, cause i read about several people really tilting cause of the server state. But please tell me how your gonna ask me to refund anything to you ? Lets not argue about the whole ideolgy of donating. And how could there be a transfer from Cata to MoP without a coin refund since the items will be useless afterwards?

I dont know what you mean by going both ways? Lets go from the start then. No way of refundation? Ok since i agreed to it. Server getting dumbed and people with their investments? So i tell you it is going BOTH WAYS FOR MY SAKE. But not in a good way though. I cant trade my character for stated and at least obvious reasons AND i can barely play on a server/realm which has way less population plus bugs etc. And now there will be zero development, not even talking about if there is a future for this server anymore. And again if those things did not happen i would not argue here about the whole thing. I donated for CATA STUFF, because i wanted to play CATA. Unfortunately Warmane staff decided for WotLK/MoP to be played here. Again; total legit. But People are left. You talked about the Community didnt want to transfer but i wonder where all the People are gone then. Those who are still there are done too. Neltharion being left out is worse for everyone, those who paid, those who played. So still i dont see the point of both ways. I had fun and all that what you stated until you took it away. And thats the reason why i still believe in Warmane as a project. So its just the fact that the things ive donated for become useless and i just want to reinvest to start over again on another Realm.
