I was told today that the only place I can get my furious gladiator weapon is in the points store. Is this true?

A post about the "new" points system was that it was basically a gifting system...except if it is the only place I can get my weapon then suddenly it isn't just a way to get bonus gear - the achievement grind suddenly becomes obligatory.

Before you ask why I don't just buy the Wrathful one...

1) I suck at arenas.
2) I will suck even worse at arenas without a PvP weapon.
3) I suppose I could get a BiS pvE weapon to use in arenas, but frankly that will take a lot of raiding and I only want to PvP on this character.
4) I really suck at arenas.

A friend rolled alliance and got carried through arenas to get his. The dirty filthy traitor.

Then he decided to stay Alliance. THE DIRTY FILTHY TRAITOR!!

So I am happy to settle for the Furious one, but do I really have to play the points game? Can't I just grind BGs like usual?
