Burning Crusade "scratchy" background music. How to fix? BC Client

Tried two different BC clients DL'd from different sources, no fix. The music played in the background is scratchy, like bad quality. It almost sounds like an old record player or playing out of a broken speaker. It's accompanied with a slight "pop pop" sound. The rest of the sounds in the game are normal. I've messed around with the audio settings, no fix.

Not sure if anyone knows what I'm talking about, but how would I fix this?
