That name is unavailable issue

I just deleted one of my previously saved names on a character level 1 and wanted to use it now for different character and after I deleted my character I created a new one with that name and it gives me the "That name is unavailable" pop-up even tho I just deleted the character with that name????? Can someone explain this?

use rename function or wait for a server reset
