I was here at the start of Outland, it was way too crowded for me so i quit again. Went to other servers but now the dust seems to have settled im intersted in returning.
I know the website says currently there's more horde people online then alliance ( about 5600 horde vs 4800 alliance, quite a big difference) but on these forums i see alot of posts about horde QQ about not enough people in the bg's.
So this seems weird to me, there's more horde online , yet people say there's not enough in the bg's. Is the website's information wrong? Are the people lying?
Does any1 have a recent census of the server on both alliance - horde side? I'd also like to know how class population is.
I was interested in lvling a warlock, but if 15% of the server plays one, i would roll something else.
Thanks for reading, hopefully you leave a reply :D
what i can tell you is that shattrah is fully crowded with a lot of horde players but bgs have only 1 to 3 regular for each one active from low peak to high peak population hours sometimes 3-4 alterac could be up end of the week at peak hours with 5 AB and eye of the storm running displaying between 5-10 pm hours. So you can conlude that either player are pve boys or they are not interested doing bgs for some reason, lack of motivation probably that's why there is a request in the suggestion forum about implementing old pvp rank so people will tag more.
There is world pvp ofc but from my experience, most of the time i have been always killed with mobs on me, low life etc...so it's more ganking so be warned and watch your back when you are grinding.
when you have to appreciate the population, i think we must say how high is the " active pvp player base who are lvl 70 " on outland from the whole player base so from the 12000 players you have to cut off the lvl <70, but you can include them if you want to count the levelling pvp phase, then cut off pve players, slackers, AH bargainer, bots, then you have the pvp base players from my point of view :
the day
- 2-3 regular ab = 30x2=60 players, don't forget bgs could start without reaching the max player)
- 1-2 eye of the storm = 30x2=60 players
- 1-2 av = 40X2X2=160 players
- 1-4 wsg = 4X 10x2=80 players
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
360 players
the peak hours roughly X2 so 360x2 = 720 bg players
now add arena : they probably are the same player from bgs then you have to count those who do only arena. i don't know how to know that. So let's say 200 players who do only arena, you get 720+200 =920 so i will say there is around 1000 lvl 70 players active doing pvp including a large part of player who do pvp at peak hours casually then off or pve rest of the time. In my opinion, this number is too high for me i will say a 600-800 players lvl 70, active doing pvp (bgs+arena). To be complete we have to add the number of players who do world pvp only but it's rather difficult to estimate, maybe it's the same who do bgs but there is surely a bunch of players doing only world pvp.
now maybe someone will tell you something else or follow me. I will like to know how it goes on icecrown.
Well the PvP scene is likely to keep being cold until S3 comes out. The reason is that PvE gear is so vastly superior to the PvP gear until S3.
Right now people can access T5 while PvP can only access S1.
Once BT comes, boy will the PvP risk of dying out when it does. T6 and the spell haste gear and Arp gear from BT will squash the petty S2 gear. Not to mention the impact of Glaives.
With ZA comes S3 and this is where the PvP scene finally starts to get "stable" as S3 PvP gear can stand toe-to-toe with the PvE gear.
And finally with SWP comes S4 which will be more or less on par with the PvE gear.
