Lordaeron Character gone or is there a chance to retrieve?

Hello dears,

wanted to check my old character at Lordaeorn (there was a wipe before on Molten already), at that time i think Burning Crusade launched and afterwards i took a very long break. After returning today ive saw that i couldnt find it (think it was level 70 with a thousands of gold for sure), neither can i find it on the Armory ala at the service-tab, but ingame it still shows an (invisible) character slot, which should be actually my level 70 toon.

I assume theres no chance anymore to get him back or? Ive read a topic that there was a wipe regarding to get names, so i assume its gone forever?
