1. Sorry for seeing this question again...

Hello. I was told by a gm before that need rolling for off spec in dungeons is not considered as ninja looting. So recently I rolled a dps item for my off spec when I was healing and ended up getting banned. Is this right? I created a ticked three days back and nobody has replied. Is it ninja looting?

  2. need roll is for main spec

    greed roll is for offspec

  3. Common etiquette is Need rolling for main spec, greed rolling for offspec/sell/disenchant. Need rolling on an offspec item would probably be considered a soft-ninja action.

If you have a high desire for an item for an offspec, then it is polite to ask the group if it is okay to need for offspec. PARTICULARLY if there are other potential users of the item. Need rolling on an item for offspec while someone else in the group loses a need roll for their main spec may be considered legitimate Ninja'ing.

Probably the best way anyone could explain.

  5. follow the common etiquette mentioned above
