1. 4.0.6

Yo yo, i just wanted to ask if you still have the copies of the 4.0.6 that were running way before molten went on 4.3.4 on their cataclysm servers.

Neltharion as it is, is just a dead server, killed by 4.3.4, since the patch is just nothing that will keep players entertained, simply because dragon sould is a really weak raid and also the overpowered pve- pieces flood the pvp-scene, resulting in more and more players quit.

so just out of curiousity, do you still have the data from that old servers? :P

It wasn't killed by 4.3.4. It died due to lack of developer attention.

yes i agree 4.3 is such a **** patch.not only DS is weak raid but DS trinkets also effect PVP way too much so kinda ****ed the PVP as well.i wanna go back to 4.0.6 so much :( sadly dont think it will ever happen.

  4. 4.0.6 were such a good time playing my frost dk in pvp... Ahh, the strength of frost. And it was before 4.1.0 where they became too unbalanced!

i dont think that that's the case. When warmane was still molten and when they were running 4.0.6 on their servers, the realms were almost always full.

then they went to 4.3.4 and a year after that, the population started to crumble more and more.
even if the realm would be 100% blizzlike everything working perfectly, there wouldn't be any increase of population, just because the patch itself is that bad.

i think it would be a smart idea to run 4.0.6 again
there would be ton's of people willing to come back, nostalgia etc.
    at least that's my opinion.

I think they could at least give it a try. wipe neltharion and start a new realm on 4.0.6 with the old scripts. I mean you got nothing to lose, neltharion doesn't really provide income as it is anyway. :/

Bull****. Cata servers were still full when they updated servers to 4.3.4 patch, i remember that because i had to donate to skip queue. It all started when everything was wiped and when Molten had to start from scratch. Until that point Cata servers had at least 3-4k players online.

No that's not what i meant. The population was stable for quite a while after they went 4.3.4, thats true.
But that was because they released s10 gear and firelands first and ppl had fun stuff to do. It started to decrease some time after the launch of ds and after ppl had fully geared s11 gear.
But slowly the population started to go down. from 4k players online ALL day to 2k players or smth like that

It started to go down because at some point MoP was released. It was still much playable until database wipe, the fact is server didnt died because 4.3.4 patch, lack of devs attention and data wipe is the only reason why Neltharion isnt more populated.

i guarantee you, even with 100% working 4.3.4 servers the realm would still have died, because the endgame just sucks.

just campare it to 3.3.5 and you have your answer :)

  10. You do remember that the cata server previously was frostwolf? Thats a BIG reason why many quit, since they turned it into MoP, that and the fact that it is simply not well developed, sure its fine, and playable, but nowhere near the quality of something like the wotlk servers.

I honestly wish they would do something like other p.servers are planning: have a progressive server, but each time with the latest patch of that expansion, like tbc would be a 2.4.3 client, wotlk a 3.3.5a client, etc, and maybe make it a bit more difficult raid wise since we all know that by the end of each patch raid bosses ended up being easy peasy. Now that would be an extremely enjoyable experience to have. Not stuck ad eternum on a patch, and always a feeling of progression, and it can be done slowly, something of yearly based, or 1.5 years, or some other decision.

I played during Molten (Mostly on Warsong where there was an average of 1000-2,200 players) and Nelth was always 3k+ on population. It didn't die then. even when MoP was released.

Moltdown then happened then servers are for the most part back up, Warmane focused on MoP, then they focused on Lordaeron, then applied Lordaeron fixes to Icecrown then they started focusing on TBC. Again the Cata realm is dying because of lack of attention.

  12. I would quit TBC and go back to 4.0.6 and play fury warrior ofc

The thing is, few players want to start Cata when it's already on 4.3.4 since that patch sucks. You're going to go through all the effort, only to reach ****ty content? I don't think so. At least that's why I quit. I stopped almost immediately after 4.3 was released because the game becomes too watered down at that point.

4.0.6 was amazing. The HCs were amazing, the raids were cool and featured new mechanics, the crafted gear mattered, PvP was explosive, reputations were relevant, Tol Barad was relevant. None of these is valid for 4.3.4, with Blizzard releasing "remastered" old content. It's like that with all end-game patches, the only exception being 3.3.5.

this. I don't have anything to add to that.

you guys think ppl would come back and play 4.0.6 again if they'd launch it?
because i would play the **** out of it again.

  15. I would play if they open a new cata realm, I'm bored of Wotlk and Mop realm is dead...
If they can save Cata opening a 4.0.6 realm, its welcome.
