For example, when I was a kid, I used to watch Lord of the Rings before playing an MMORPG—not WoW, but a medieval MMO. Lord of the Rings was the number one movie about mages, paladins, and adventures, and I'd go crazy when I played an MMO, imagining I was some kind of medieval hero like in the movie.
Then, for WoW, I also watch videos about WoW lore, epic WoW events, famous WoW characters, and mysterious things or stories from WoW.
There are several videos on YouTube about incredible events or characters in WoW history and more, haha.
I put those videos on in the background to inspire me when I play.
How do you get inspired to play WoW? Do you watch movies, videos, listen to podcasts or music?
It's usually the music that hits close to home for me. Classic and TBC zone music in particular brings all the nostalgia out. When I used to raid, I would listen to music in Apple Music - but when it came to doing quests or Loremaster, anything outside of raiding... always had the in-game music playing on loop.
Although I love WOTLK, there are only a few zone or raid soundtracks that I like...
