Technical How Does Voting System Work?

Hi all, I've been on warmane (formerly molten) since 2011 March, and I remember before being able to vote for the server for points. That option seems to have been removed even though in my history I can still see that I bought items with my vote points before. Also, can I see where my old characters have gone? I'm guessing they've been deleted due to inactivity.

Vote points are still a thing but instead of voting you get your points from just playing the game (although you need 1000 achievement points to start earning points), voting was removed since moltdown as iirc molten used to own the voting sites such as openwow etc and besides they're not really used anymore as most people get their information directly from google or forum sites such as reddit etc.

To answer your question on where your old characters are, was this on an account before moltdown happened? If so they're long gone i'm afraid as everyone had to start over.
