Burning Crusade Ninja Looting

Wanted help with a ninja looter

They just joined a group, and said they would be rolling Greed on the Scarab of Infinte Cycle, a healing trinket from The Black Morass, apon it dropping, they rolled Need and won over me, the healer.

Is there some way to remove the loot and properly give it to me, or even punishment, for players acting so poisonous to the community that it makes people quit, I don't mind donating, I have in fact to try and catch up, but with it being hard enough to find groups due to population time zones, I don't want to be driven out by things like this.

Please assist me in this issue, at least this once.

if you don't have evidence there's nothing that can be done about it.
