I don't want to go into the details of the topic because its just sad what happened. I use to leave my computer open all the time and barely turn it off. An ex-friend got on it and well you can guess what happens next. I've been stressed out waiting for the ticket. I just wanted to ask, Is there anyone here and can give any feedback on how long a restore can take? I backed up my account and have the encrypted file from last month, Will this help me get my characters back in any way?

As far as I know those backup file are not for cases like yours.

What you can do is it manually restore your characters one by one.
https://www.warmane.com/account > services > select realm > Points/Coins > character restoration
the first character might be restored for free if done within 48 hours ( this free feature has a CD of 7 days)
for the others character you need to spend 20 Coins/Points
