Now I know that you need 1000 achievement points (AP) to be able to collect points. My question is do these achievement points need to be on one character? For instance: if I have one character that has 600 achievement points, and another character with 400 achievement points, will I be eligible for point collection? Also I have read some stuff about unique achievements counting across characters; what classifies an achievement as "unique"? If I get the 10 AP "Shave and A Haircut" achievement on two characters, does that amount to 20 AP added to my goal of 1000?
Any help is appreciated!

Reason: Wasn't sure if the answer would change based on expansion or server/realm.
You need 1000 achievement points on a single character on any realm to begin collecting points and then you increase the points collected by earning unique achievements between all characters on all realms. So, yes, Shave and A Haircut only counts once.
Achievement counts on the WotLK and Pandaria server, not for tbc server (Outland). You need 1000 points on ONE char to collect points. Every achiev counts 1x for all chars; this means that the char with the most achievs is counting for your limit.
For example: You have 1 char with 600 and one with 400 points. In this case, the char with the 600 points counts for your acc goal.
Btw: Only the achievement points are correct which are shown in the armory. Ingame achievs are wrong bcz of guild achievs which increases your points without you haven't received the achievs, but a guildy got it.
Look at your chars in armory, for example these are your 3 chars:
1. Peterparker has 800 points
2. Jessiejames has 960 points
3. Richardgere has 500 points
I answer on your deleted post: You talked about 2 accounts, not 1. Accounts are independant by each other and you can collect 2x points based on the 2 total achievment points of each acc.
