Technical Account wiped clean??

I will start off by saying one day a year or two ago I got kicked off of the game sitting in the duel area on the MoP server playing my monk Loudpak, this happened, and I tried to log back in to no avail. I went to the website, and I couldnt access the MoP page, and it was this way for a week, I figured something happened, itll be up. Days pass, computer takes a dump on me and I decided to focus more time on my car.

478 days later as it says on my account panel, I come to log in, my characters are gone, MoP seems to be missing a server, I believe the one my characters were on, and i cant donate for any of them because they dont seem to exist. I go to make a ticket, it says "APPEAL BAN" so I'm like woahhh okay I got banned, but I never knew it, cool that explains a little bit, but why? I was in chat often, caused a small amount of ruckus but nothing more than a one time 5 minute speech ban was ever put on me. So I type this looooong thing about how I didnt know I was banned, I would like to know why and if its fixable, I get down to where it asks me to select a ban to appeal and none are there, so at this point I cut what I type out, went back to my account and it says i'm "in good standing".

My question is now, what happened? Are my characters gone forever? Did that server get wiped? I only donated once and it was like 15 bucks, but I had a lot of time spent on my monk Loudpak and am very upset to see that that character may be gone. I'm just searching for an explanation and if possible some compensation as it is just a game, but i've spent a lot of time behind a keyboard playing this game. I feel as if all that time was for nothing.

Did you log in game? If your characters are still there, they are most likely missing their names because of inactivity cleanup so you won't see them on website. I don't think there was another MoP realm 2 years ago. If you still don't see your characters after you log in game, someone must have logged on your account and deleted them. In that case you can try sending an email to [email protected] but I don't know if they will be able to help you.
