The Symbol Of Life quest item bugged

I accidently deleted the quest item i need to complete the quest "the tome of divinity". it is not giving me the symbol of life when i speak the quest giver again and even if i leave the quest and reaccept it doesn't give me it, i have checked my bank already aswell. i have read over and over that if i lose or use the item and need another duthorian rall is supposed to give me another but he isn't. i can't complete the quest to get my revive spell. PLEASE HELP ASAP
