1. Hail and well met

I'm Charlotte, but I suppose you can call me Yomi here. I'm turning 26 this June, and I'm going for my AA in Theater Arts. I am a writer first and foremost, however, and I'm on a mission to be the next J.R.R. Tolkien. I also have (minimal) talent in Photoshop.

I've never actually finished a WoW run before. I played a little on my friend's computer during the original Burning Crusade era (2007-2008), and I tried out a free account on Blizzard before I realized my laptop was way too old to handle the load. Then I found you guys! Your WotLK seems to work pretty well with my computer.

I'm a very quiet person, and notoriously shy. I would like to learn more about the game, and perhaps one day engage in PVP and raids, but I'm pretty sure voice chat/Discord would slow my game down too much. When I can afford a new computer, I will definitely redownload your client for a better experience. Until then, PVE it is. (I tend to prefer PVE anyway, because I'm here for the story.) I generally prefer Alliance over Horde, and my favorite races are Night Elves and Blood Elves.

I'm playing exclusively on Lordaeron at night U.S. time, and my only baby so far is:
Gormlaith | Level 1 | Night Elf Druid

Tips and pointers are always appreciated, as are friends.

  2. The best advice I can give you is don't queue up for dungeons until you're level 27. Low level dungeons can be very frustrating if the tank and/or healer are not skilled and geared. I have seen players show up to tank dungeons as a level 15 paladin with 400 hp, gray mail armor and a two handed weapon and I just immediately left it because its not doable. I chose level 27 as the starting point because you will not be able to get Shadowfang Keep dungeon anymore at that level which is incredibly difficult even for a geared tank that knows what he's doing.

For the sake of your dungeon companions, don't queue up until you're level 27 or higher. Just...don't. It's not worth it unless you have a friend who knows how to tank dungeons and lead the group.

  3. Thank you for your response.

As I said, I'm mostly here for PVE and maybe RP, and I don't know if I'll ever voluntarily do instances like PVP, raids, dungeons, etc. (Fully prepared for ganking, just hoping it won't happen too often.) I'm not exactly new to MMOs as a whole; I played SWTOR for 3+ years before taking a break, and I actually refused to do anything other than the main story on there until I was fully leveled and geared. My preferred role is tank or dps, but I know better than to do anything stupid until I have a better feel for the game.

Which druid spec would you recommend for PVE? I was leaning toward Feral or Balance.
