WotLK stuck on connecting and settings don't save

i downloaded the wotlk client (not old) from the main website, made an account and logged in. Didn't make any character because i was waiting for my friend so i closed the game and came back a few hours later. In the meanwhile i have changed the settings to my monitor and made it windowed.

when i came back after a few hours, changes are not saved. Set it again to a specific resolution and when i relaunched it, it forgot the settings again. It also asks me to accept terms each time i open it. I believe this problem will also affect my action bar and macros.

the first time i got into realm selection, but now it's stuck at "Connecting" after a while saying "Unable to connect. Please try again later. If the problem persists, please contact ...". What should i do about this? and how do i avoid my settings being not saved?

About the settings:
Remove WoW from torrent, move it away from default download location, right click folder, remove read-only

About connecting: Give it some time, I don't think there's anything you can do to fix it. Just keep trying until it works.

thank you man. I did as you said, removed it from torrent and closed torrent, moved the folder from original location, removed read only from the whole folder not just the data folder.

i was stuck connecting for a few hours, but after i did the steps above it worked on first try.
