    Multiboxing in PvP

I started on this server 5 days ago, and one huge issue I identified, is multiboxing in PvP. The short and simple is this, Warmane could make it against the rules, that would be the sensible thing but they simply won't. It could be argued that there's no harm done, but I would argue, multiboxing dozens of characters in an Alterac Valley breaks certain rules.

http://forum.warmane.com/showthread.php?t=65037 Refer to the code of conduct for players.

    "NO SOCIAL MISTREATMENT OR ANNOYANCE
We prize for a fun enviroment for everybody, meaning all players should follow that philosophy If you dont wish to have your gameplay disrupted by a GM intervention, just play nice and avoid ruining the gameplay of your fellow players. Below
are some examples of what you shouldn't do!" This is the height of annoyance and it creates a terrible playing environment for battlegrounds like Alterac Valley because it is either impossible to win or impossible to beat, with a huge multiboxer in your game, and you eventually lose via reinforcements. This is not viable and Warmane needs to change their rules to ban multiboxing in PvP, simple as that.

    "NO PVP EXPLOITING"
"Besides it, no afking in bgs, follow, botting etc. These are bad attitudes that may get your account suspended." This is another rule, another rule that massive multiboxing in battlegrounds breaks. There's no use reporting it happening though because a GM won't be along fast enough to actually address the issue, they'll do it after the fact, but after it, you don't care, you just want a proper battleground, not one with multiboxers ruining your game, GRIEFING your game.

If warmane was serious about this, they would hire more staff to actively police battlegrounds to ensure stuff like this doesn't happen. Without saying this in a slanderous manner, I think it's more likely that Warmane just likes the money that these multiboxers provide and don't wanna take the financial hit, I understand that, I hope that's not the case but I do understand if that is the case. I don't agree with that though and IF Warmane is (Big if, not saying true just IF) prioritizing profit over player enjoyment then quite frankly that is a resounding issue for this server.

Tl;dr Warmane should actively ban multiboxers in pvp to ensure more player enjoyment in battlegrounds.

You missed the forum code of conduct over here.

#15: Complaints about Multi-boxing -- Hostility towards the server or other members due to the subject of multi-boxing is considered inappropriate. It is an allowed and supported play-style of this game, and the mistreatment of others for it is forbidden. Moderation action taken will depend upon the severity of the action and if the member has a history of offenses. Feel free to read about our stance on multiboxing here.

There's a difference here that you are missing. The program that you're referring to, that a multiboxer uses, not only is it not directly injecting things into the packets the game client sends to the server, but it also requires keystrokes from the user. Literally the only thing this program does is allow the user to send the same keystroke to multiple game clients at once.

As such, this isn't relevant, because the other third-party programs you refer to generate keystrokes without input from the user and/or allow the user to do things in the game that a specific single character would not be able to do.
Before you argue "well one person can't control 10 characters at once!", there is nothing those 10 characters, or however many, are doing that 10 other characters are not capable of doing. The simple fact that they are synchronized and/or being played by the same person does not make it illegal.

With that said, there are a variety of reasons multiboxing is allowed. And I hate having to explain this again and again and again. Yes, multiboxers do sometimes donate large sums of money. Yes, multiboxing is technically not against the "third-party software" rules. However, the biggest reasons why multiboxing is allowed is because of 1) the huge amount of drama that would ensue if we put any sort of limit on it, which would start witch-hunting, and even people complaining that the rules aren't severe enough. And 2) we cannot enforce any rule-set on them without harming innocent players; Where would we draw the line on multi-boxing? 5 character cap? Well what if some guy wanted to log a bunch of accounts, bank alts for example, to trade around and/or organize their gold or items? What if a guy would want to use 5 characters to try and play through a dungeon without affecting anyone else? These are just some examples, but the list goes on.

Lastly and ultimately, this is really not up for discussion. We've made our stance on multi-boxing pretty clear. Regularly complaining about it is not going to get us to take action against multi-boxers. In fact, it's more likely that we're going to take action against people who are disrespectful towards the staff because of the issue. Not because we don't care about multi-boxing, but because it's part of the game and not everyone can be satisfied.

Thank you for reading my long-winded post.

    Kind regards,
    Mercy.
I'd quote the wall of blue posts from Blizzard explaining the same thing numerous times but those links no longer work.
