I understand there are policies about the gameplay, but I just went through a situation that I don't have to tolerate.

I don't owe any explanations to people about if I need to leave RDF due to many reasons. I'm an engineer, I try to play every time I can, and I have very short free time to do so. Today, Saturday 31st October, I logged in with my Healer Shaman, just to do the RDF and get the emblems, before going to work.

Halls of Reflection HC came up, and I saw that there were 3 people low-geared for it. Even I am low-geared. I know it is not supposed to work that way, but I asked if they could kick me, so I can just skip that one and do fastest one, without getting deserter for 30min, because I only had like an hour to play before going to work.

They told me that is disrupting gameplay and that I would get banned for 5 days, so I panicked.

I've tried Halls of Reflection HC so many times, and everytime we wipe at LichKing, I guess I haven't been lucky enough. Anyways they ended up kicking me but I think they are going to report me, which I think is unfair.

I actually tried, but they were entitled to kick me anyways.

there isn't much you can do.
Next time leave by your own and get 30 min deserter.

Btw, even if they accept to kick you, you would still wait 15 min before to use RDF tool as far as I know (there is a 15 min CD for using Dungeon Finder)

you have 2 options. 1. a 30 minute break, or a 5 day break. looks like you picked the 5 day break.

When you queue for a random dungeon, by default you agree that you can get the most "aids" dungeon in the list. Nobody has to abide by one particular person's free time. If you don't have enough free time - you don't queue.

You don't get RDF instances that aren't doable with your gear. I'd guess you start paying attention to your class, and work as team when you get "hard" RDF.

Either you play, or you don't. Trying to evade in-game punishment (deserter) via asking to be kicked, isn't worth it. With your limited time, it's amazing how you just didn't try to do it, or leave immediately.

Learn to cut your losses.
